Just added toolbox and roof-rack to haul my fishing boat 100's of miles into the backwoods every week. Goodrich K02s, Bilstein 5100 front and back, no lift.
Got out for a few days of fishing this past week, but this beautiful lake will be a one time only trip. The trail in is so rough I would not risk it again. If you have another truck or person with you, maybe. I've done over 100 solo remote trips in just the last 3 years, and several hundred over the last 35 years. You have to balance that risk vs reward when you are alone.

The 4x4 portion of the road is truck width and takes 1.5 hours to travel the last 2 miles. I bottomed out maybe a dozen times, and that is after getting out to measure my angle past those spots. Cleared a lot of small trees and tree limbs along the way so whoever goes next will have it a bit easier.

If I had a really old beater with a minimum 3 inch lift, or an ATV, then I would go again. Really sucks, as the fish are big and plentiful since it's so hard to reach. One of the rainbows was 23 inches, and 3 pounds. I fly fish, and I do catch and release only.

Nice, looks like a good time.

Do you happen to have pictures of your boat rack? I like that setup and have a similar size john boat I am looking to haul on my taco.

Those wheels are a really good idea for moving the boat around by yourself. Did you put them on and do they cause any issues in the water?

Sorry, but I never name lakes that are remote. Need to keep them that way. :)

I will do a hike in with belly boat if I go back. Central British Columbia.

Here is a pic with rack from a different trip. Yes I put them on, pretty simple job. I do leave them in that position so they are upright when fishing. Otherwise they create too much drag if they are left in the water. I just wheel it to lake edge, then flip it over at the shore line. Boat only weighs 85 pounds so it is easy to haul up and down even on steep boat launches.

Thanks. That is a nice looking setup.

Yeah my boat ways about the same, easy with two people but a little annoying by yourself. I am going to have to snag some wheels

Yeah with the wheels I never need a second person to help.

Lake Alan Henry (near Post, Texas). This little stretch of road becomes more challenging with each rainstorm....

My 21 TRD off-road taco will be delivered tomorrow. I will post pics after I try it off-road stock. I had a 19 frontier pro4x I traded for it at end of lease and will do the same trails to see the difference. It won’t be completely fair as I had nice bfg ko2 stock size on my nissan and the taco has some junk Goodyear’s

Explore a bit more of Anza Borrego. We did fish creek wash trail. This area is called Galleta Meadows. These metal sculptures are awesome for photos.
