How much time passed between install and your first complaint?

Sorry to hear about your issues. Def seems like the shop messed up. Though I've had some pretty good rock impacts with mine and they've been fine but i do have 16's so don't know if that makes a difference.

About 40 days from purchase 35 days from mounting. I took it on the highway first day and noticed it but just figured it was the tires and I could deal with it until I planned to drive the highway. Which was 36 days after purchase. First appointment I could get road force balancing was at 40 days which is the same day I reached out to the seller.

So 5 days passed between mounting and your complaint? I guess the real problem is that the installer will blame the manufacturer and the manufacturer will blame the installer. I don't think it's right for you to have to pay any money to get it right. Installer is the professional If they thought the wheels were sub par they should have said something. I would go back and tell them that you want to be made whole and with only 5 days between install and complaint, there is no way you did anything. Threaten legal action and filing on BBB. It may at least get you some extra discounts. They can afford a loss to make a customer happy.

There was 36 days from mount to complaint only because I had actual evidence once I took them for a second look of the wheels being bent and it wasn't a miss-mounted tire. (that video I posted earlier) Discount tire confirming the wheels were bent. I notified the seller that night I found out.

I could possibly take them back to belle tire and tell them I had an 2nd company check them and they were bent but they would do exactly what you said. Blame the manufacturer or claim I damaged them during driving. which is why I am accepting the fate that I will eat the cost of 3 more wheels.

Wow, sorry to hear about this..

just some Info to add to this thread..
My 17"s were pretty hard to mount the tires on. I was at my local tireshop to help them install mine. Both of the mechanics there said it’s unusual that the tire were this tight on the wheel, he even though that since the inner front lip is so wide he was certain that it was supposte to be mounted reverse (tire installed from backside of the wheel), but in fact it IS supposed to be installed front faced.

Because of this im sure that the first tire shop you visited is at fault and are trying to hide their mistakes…

Hope it sorts out for you, not fun being in thats type of situation.. id been furious if it were me as I waited 5months before installing mine!:smash:
But been running mine for a month now and have no issues so far, fingers crossed!

Well I got my 3 replacement wheels delivered today. For a sanity check I rolled them across my floors. Both my wife and I noted a slight dip from all 3 wheels on the inside of the wheel while rolling them back and forth. To rule out the floor we moved to another part of the house and rolled them, same outcome. I measured one of the wheels with a tape measure lip to lip and most of the wheel measures 18 9/16" with the exception of a small area measures 18 1/2". (the area I am assuming is causing the dip when rolling).

I scheduled an appointment next Tuesday with a tire shop down the road from my house to spin them on their balancer without mounting a tire so I can get a more accurate check and possible video of them.

Well all 3 were confirmed bent in this shipment too. discount tire spun them all for me and I got videos of them this time. Wheel shop that sold them to me will take a return and refund on only the second set..... so back to wheel shopping. I really liked these wheels just wish I had better luck with them. Anyone think they could be re-rounded or are they even worth the money to reround?

    f#%$ Really!?
    That's just unlucky man...

Were you able to find a wheel at the end of it all?
Have you seen the Level 8 Mk6 wheels? They were my second choice in my wheel hunt. The bronze is a tad to light for my taste though. But still a good looking wheel for an OK price.

Yeah I don't know if its just luck of the draw or if Vors is having some quality control issues. I did consider the Level 8 MK6 wheels but after seeing a couple threads on them they look to light in color for my tastes, I like that dark bronze look. I also considered the Motegi MR150 Traillights in bronze. But I haven't seen too many of those around to make a good judgement on them. At the end my wife said "why don't you spend a little more and go through a more reputable place to ensure you get some good wheels". So I didn't ask any questions with that and put in an order with Discount Tire for 5x Method MR312 bronze wheels.

I have been researching wheel straightening and trying to find a place that might take a swing at smoothing these out. I am currently in the middle of a trailer build and with 2 decent wheels if I could straighten one of the bent 3 I could use them as the wheels on my trailer and match tires to my truck.

You did the right choice! If my wife said that to me i'd do just the same thing!
And Methods are just the way i would have gone as well!
My choices would have been between; 312 Bronze and 310 Con6, both of them are clean AF!

If you are able to get them straightened to some degree that they can work it would be a nice set for your trailer build!
Update us once the new wheels are on and the trailer is ready to be hauled behind the Taco!

yeah no way I was going to ask if she was sure she wanted me to go that route haha. I was debating between SCS F5's but lots of people have them. A 3rd gen in my neighborhood has them in bronze and they look sick but again too many people have them. I went back and forth on a few different models and since my wife said I could get higher priced ones I gave her some say in which ones I picked. 312's are what we agreed on.

If I get one straightened up enough to use as a 3rd tire (spare) on my trailer I will for sure update this thread with pics.

I got paranoid from @AStinkyBumb 's testimonial so I pulled out all my wheels and rolled them across the kitchen floor. All of them look straight. One had a small blemish on the inside of the lip that I noticed, but it shouldn't be an issue. I sleep much better now. Just gotta wait till I get new tires to bother putting them on. (technically I'm not supposed to even know I have them yet since they were a surprise birthday present and my birthday is next month)

That looks like the amount of weights they had to put on mine.

I had a similar amount of weights (6oz plus) on two of mine when discount tire mounted my tires (general grabber atx). Both of those tires ended up being replaced by discount tire because of excessive runout. Now all of my wheels are good each having no more than 3.75 oz of weight. These were road force balanced both times…..
……the tech doing the balance can make a huge difference. I was lucky and got one that knew wth he was doing the second go around.
He pretty much face palmed and apologized to me when he saw what the first tech had done.

I'm taking it back on Friday and gonna have them debead and rotate the tire on the rim and redo them. I can feel a vibration coming from it so I know it's not right.

Got it redone. Only two strips instead of 3 this time around, feels better. Though they didn't clean off the glue from the original strips so gotta goo gone that.... Also told me my tire was cupped and that was probably part of the vibration I was feeling. I think my upper ball joint might be going out, covered in grease. Last time I greased it, I overdid it so I think it hastened it's demise.

So, i thought i add some final thoughts from my side about these wheels after running them for about 8 months.

All in all, they are a great wheel, cheap and affordable, even for me that had to have them shipped over the Atlantic Ocean.

The only negative thing I have to say about them are the paint.
On the Bronze version the paint is very coarse, and all crap would stick to it no matter what. Quick rinse is out of the question, you will have to use some break cleaner or a good wheel cleaning product and go to business to really get the breakdust out.
My only regret is that i didnt add a good clear coat on top before mounting the wheel on it.

Other than that im very happy how they look on my truck. And pretty stoked that there arent others here in my country that have them :bananadance:
