Not sure if this is even possible but is there a front skid plate for a 3rd gen, SR5 2wd? If so please put a link to it. Would love to get rid of the air deflector and add a front skid plate! Thanks! I drive in fields sometimes and worried the air deflator is going to get ripped off plus love all the pictures of everyones skid plates! Thanks Sabor!

Make it to NY no problem besides some traffic and idiot North Eastern drivers...YES I MEAN YOU GUYS.

I think forgot to mention before i left FL that i did an oil change, lubed, etc. I found the 2nd grease fitting in the driveshaft. I filled it and a good amount of black water came out of it. i assume it was from lack of greasing lol. Happy i found it and now its greased well.

Theres a place in NC called Corolla beach i want to check out on the way back to FL with wild horses.

 

Not a big change but just had my entire front end 18" back done with Xpel clear paint protection wrap. Looks really good cant even see it.

The Corolla/Carova area has a lot of good beach driving. Seeing the horses is always neat. The cool thing is that the area is controlled by the county and after Labor Day no permits are required (Parking permit is required during the summer season.) Down the southern end of the Outer Banks, it is a National Seashore (federally controlled) and you need a permit year-round.

There is a factory skid plate on the 2wd's. It is black sheet metal but there never the less. If you want an aftermarket one, I would check the factory part numbers to see if they are the same for the 2wd and 4wd. If so you could probably fit a 4wd aftermarket one. Removing the front chin strap only takes a minute and will make your truck look much better with or without an aftermarket skid plate.

 

You didn't even mention the hidden national treasure of Rocky Hock and Arrowhead Beach. Dare I mention Colerain Beach.

I would assume the frame is the same for the 2wd and 4wd. If that is the case, you should be able to bolt up the TRD Pro skid.

 

Yeah. We want to keep it hidden. That hot Colerain beach scene is starting to wind down. The gnats are on the decline, too. Now that all the melon fields have been tilled under. But the fall scene is ramping up with the sweet smell of cotton defoliant in the air and a nice haze of dust from everyone digging peanuts.

TRD skid works fine on 3rd gen 2wd. Had it on my 16 Sport rear wheel drive. I suggest you install a Fumoto oil pan drain valve first. Then you won't need to remove the skid for oil changes.

 

And done. That was much easier than the bumper caps. I did use about 75% of a can of Hyperdip. Since it's the front, wanted the dip to be thick. Shadow Black matches the factory plastic really well. We'll see how well it holds up.

 

Wait wait wait.... we can fold the bestop sides in to make half sides???
