I wouldn't use anything that has the wording FRAM...got tons of better, way better options...good move!

“Toyota” is just the dealer. Your area obviously is gonna be different than most. But if a dealer in your area can get bulk oil 5¢ cheaper per quart or whatever from someplace else and they want to save money, they will go with another place. It’s all gonna vary from dealership to dealership. Even large autogroups can carry different brands between stores. Depends all on the parts manager/director or whoever is making the decisions. The auto group I used to work for was the largest in NY. Different stores would vary like that. Mainly because if someone could save a few pennies here and there, it helps their bottom line which they all get bonuses from. Thus more money in their pockets. It’s a shady business.

Oh I understand. I was just reinforcing what others were saying about GTMO is not what's bulked at dealerships...contrary to what some may believe.

And I wouldn't necessarily call it shady. Dealerships are no different from any other business. They exist to make money and it's just smart business to find ways to help that along. Not an organization on the planet that doesn't eek out ways to help the bottom line.

I meant people lining their own pockets doing shady things within the business. Obviously any businesses main goal is to be profitable. There’s a lot that goes on behind closed doors. In any business really. I’ve seen finance managers sneaking things in a customers deal, giving people a higher interest rate than they actually qualified for. Service advisors and techs selling service and parts that aren’t needed. Techs breaking stuff and telling the customer they found it broken. So many things, I could go on all day about the stuff I’ve seen over the years.

I was under my truck looking at the hole that's resulting in me getting a new frame and snapped a pic of the oil filter; Clearly not a Fram...

You don't need to worry about their new filters at all. The Fram titanium is one of the most efficient oil filters ever made.

Yea but the vastly superior second gen can run on used cooking oil, whereas the turd gen will implode on anything but toyota oil within 1 oil change. Stay woke

Yea but do you then get the coal powered electricity or nuclear. One certainly adds way more power.

The stigma is powerful. Some people will never see otherwise despite that fact most have not actually had a problem personally. The Internet is a powerful thing. So are stories handed down by fathers and grandfathers.
