Oh there will be some mods all right
I hate to be a downer to you guys, but this is at a public place a short ways from the parking lot. Michigan takes their abandoned mines and caves really seriously. There are several around the upper peninsula that have gated in entrances like this. I like the way you guys think though:D

Cave entrance most likely. Cavers often secure entrances so people don’t either get stuck in or damage the caves, especially on private property.
Edit: or as above, mine entrance.

Used to be able to go into most all the caves in Central Oregon.
Vandalism shut most down, with gates.

Snoqualmie Pass area (Washington) near where Stampede Pass road intersects with the Palouse to Cascades/ Iron Horse trail, which is an old railroad.

Looks like an old car, but not sure what it was. I saw it when I wandered into the woods to pee.

Found these on random trees around our campsite. Remote Northwest lower Michigan.

One friend touched one and then slammed my high end fly rod in the tail gate. Coincidence? I dunno?

He felt so bad he bought me a new fly rod. Bad luck/good luck?for who? I dunno?

Nothing nearly as exciting as some of the finds on this site but a few fun ones for me especially with most coming from SoCal.
Growing up in Costa Mesa I was maybe 2nd grade and found a 1/2 stick of dynamite in one of the alleys down the street from our place. I had no idea what it was but when I brought it home my dad called the cops to come get it right away!
Found a few diving type knives when I was a kid and into the snorkeling, spear fishing thing.
Probably my most memorable find was when we were working in, at the time, a completely undeveloped area outside Irvine that was a known Indian site. During lunch I just decided to go walk around in the hills a bit and saw a round rock sticking out of the ground. Picked it up and gave it a quick glance all the while thinking it looked like an Indian rock. Put it in my coveralls pocket and just kept walking. I stoped in my tracks and said to myself “ looks like an Indian rock”? Took it out of my pocket and looked at it again. Perfectly round, squared of edges and dished out on the top. Totally an Indian rock! Best part of the story. Got back to job site and showed they guys what I found and my boss was pissed because I found something and he didn’t. So he was on a mission to find himself and Indian rock too. He grabbed a shovel and started digging up and flipping over every rock he could find. While this was going on I went on the other side of our crew truck, picked up a regular looking rock and on the bottom of it I wrote “Indian rock” on it with a sharpie. I yelled out “hey I found another one. I found an Indian rock”!!! The boss and other guys ran over and I handed the rock to my boss. He looked at it and said “what makes you think this is an Indian rock”? I took the rock and flipped it over and said “it says so right here on the bottom”. Talking about pissed! He ignored me for a week and the harder I laughed the more angry he got. You would have had to be there to appreciate it. Here’s the rock that started it all
