Cleaned the dried mud off the frame, then hit it with rubbing compound and wax.
This will be a one time only deal.

I used to carry a big heavy set of jumper cables behind the rear seats. Then I got to thinking, these days that is not a good idea. After all, you still need another vehicle to get you started with jumper cables. Why not lighten the load and save space and get a battery pack that is capable of jumping a vehicle, even one made for it. Researched things and settled on a NOCO. They have all sizes but I settled on this one. I have the dedicated case coming for it and if needed, I can use it to charge a phone or run most anything in an emergency.

Damn, I remember when I was young and had the energy to do this kind of stuff. I know the feeling of pride and satisfaction when you are done.....I miss those days. Enjoy them while you can.

anyone here know about pulleys in conjunction with a hoist? Any small kind engineer types
If I need to draw it out because my question is hard to understand I will but let me try… I want to have 4 points of lift (1 at each corner of the cap), each corner will go straight up to a pulley that will all route to a centered “junction” (located rear of cap). I know I could have the hoist installed on the ceiling that keeps everything in a straight line but can I have a pulley (double stationary style) that will allow to route the hoist to the side wall making it perpendicular to the center line?

I’ll draw up a shitty picture and edit

    Lol
    Thank you.
Took me 6 years of buying anything off Craigslist and yard sales, cars, trucks, several motorcycles, tons of guitars, anything i knew i could make a profit on when i sold it. To have enough money to buy the truck i want.
It all started with a guitar for 20$ and sold for 40$
    I saw an opportunity.
    I turned a guitar into a truck.

    I'm. 43

I would flip it around and have it lifted from the back of the garage unless you can lift it high enough to drive under.

Can you find joists and mount pulleys in the ceiling? Cables from corners go through pulleys and have rings that connect to hoist hook. All corners pulled at the same time. Geometry may be tricky to initially sort out, but it should work.

    Retired/Hobbyist old as f***
I get that. Up here in VA with grown kids, 1 finishing her Masters degree and a high schooler grandkid so the closest I get to that area is 2+ miles high heading to our Florida place. For 25-30 years I had a thought that I would retire there. Now retired I never get there. Still have a lot of family there (Nixons, Wilsons, Mizelles, Asbells) but just never find the time to get there. My biggest regret is that my kids never experienced working my Grandparents farms in Colerain and Windsor. I enjoyed every minute there. For years after baseball I spent the remaining summers there as a kid. I even moved back after graduation to attend Roanoke Chowan for their automotive classes and worked 3rd shift in the Winton aluminum plant. Good times indeed. My Dad was actually born in Rocky Hock in a house on the river (not "in a van down by the river").

I love mine. Used it more than once for myself and others.

Beats positioning the vehicles just right and trusting the other guy doesnt set it up funny and fry your system.

They do pretty good sales on their website on black fridays and other days

The back of the garage, which is the center line, is blocked by floor shelving. That’s why I wanted to know if the hoist could be 90 degrees off center line, perpendicular. Parking in the garage is not possible but I can pull in half way (enough to have it lifted straight up and clear obstacles). I can raise it to the point the bottom of the cap will be 7’ 4” off the ground

20211003_191008.jpg 20211003_190102.jpg Here's a crude sketch and a pic of how I have my hoist set up in my garage. Different application but same thought. Swivel pulleys on eyes and a horizontal pull. Yours would drop vertically to a corner after that second pulley.

Totally possible. Getting everything exactly the right length will be tricky at first, but I did a very similar thing I’m my last garage.
