Yes, Leavitt Lake area is currently to vehicles, but bike/hike access is allowed.

This sign is on the board at the trailhead and on FB. I don't know why they haven't posted an official closure notice on the forest service website yet.

Very strange and unfortunate. Not the easiest road. But I guess if people can't behave and follow rules then the powers that be will do what they want.

There’s nothing like Death Valley. So remote, so much to see. Not a lot of people out there either. Great roads, beautiful scenery, so different than the norm. Have you been out to Saline Hot springs? So awesome! I’ve done the drive from Eureka Dunes to Saline a couple of times and loved it. Long drive but really fun & pretty much doable with a stock truck too.

This little spot behind the drivers passenger seat is a great cubby for a bottle of wine or other spirits!

Me as well but a bottle of booze will probably get used more frequently…

Just back from a "State Park" tent camping visit out west.

VT to The Dakotas, out to Montana, down to South Lake Tahoe, then back.
7K miles, too much driving, not enough camping ;-)Nebraska shadows.jpg Rocky High .jpg

I was just unpacking and realized there is a similar sized cubby on the other side. I just put my fire extinguisher in the on on driver side and will use the other side for wine when camping!

I'm sorting through some images now. Mostly scenery of flat land (I'm a Dakota boy, born and raised, so like the wide open sky, They don't photograph like much though ;-)

Nebraska and Southern Iowa were real nice too ;-)

I'm terrible at taking photos of my camping set up but this is along the way to the destination in the geographical centre of British Columbia.PXL_20211002_182528023.MP.jpg PXL_20211002_184309272.MP.jpg

The previous night at 10,000 feet in rain and 37 degree temps west of Steamboat was less pleasurable ... ;-)

anyone run a portable Chinese diesel heater outside of their rig and run the heater tube up to one of the bed storage cubbies? if so, how did you connect to the storage cubby and how did you keep it dust proof? THanks!
