Finished my bearing and related seal and hardware replacement. I'll mount the calipers tomorrow night. I was on a conf call all night for work. I'm calling it a day.

The right is a ruined OEM arm. Two swings of a hammer and the inner sleeve bent like that. Left is a Duralast I’ve been swinging a hammer at for over an hour. Think the bearing splitter method is a no go. Unless I had an air hammer (don’t even have a shop compressor rn) to get these inner sleeves bent back to slide in the bearing splitter.

Maybe I’ll try the hacksaw method someone mentioned. Or get some OEM arms off eBay.

Seriously... I had no luck at all with the hammer and chisel and the hacksaw was surprisingly effective. If you've got a good saw with a sharp, tight blade (I used a Lennox... like $25 from Lowes), you should be able to prep all four bushings for the splitter in well under an hour. Just mind the blade position or you'll nick the arm itself.

I will never touch a non-oem control arm ever again. If these were OEM the truck would've been running last weekend lol.

I did determine I'll probably use the floor jack + coil bucket method of swapping the front shocks out. Not sure why people act like that is more dangerous than spring compressors.

I'm thinking a 8" drop bracket lift and you'll be good.
