Welp. I got the trade deal of a lifetime. The Midtown in my profile picture is gone. Straight trade for a 2019 Les Paul Standard 50s AA top heritage cherry sunburst. Dude said he's made tons of money playing guitar in front of people all over the world for 40 years and the money didn't matter to him. Give me a couple minutes to upload the only picture I currently have of it...

Just jaw dropping (for me.) I've always thought of the heritage cherry sunburst Les Paul as THE guitar. Now it's mine. It's just unbelievable.

Wowza that's a beaut!!! I thought I made the trade of a lifetime moving a Fender Frontman 212R (SS garbage amp) for a mint Peavey Classic 20 (worth 3x as much). But that trade you made is just insane!!! I've been drooling over the new standards since they came out, and when it comes time I'm scared I will end up spending that money on a Gretsch hollowbody instead, I have LP tone dreams just as often as Setzer ones lol.

Rock on and enjoy that beast!

I've had it a little over a week but had been away for 4 days. It's just incredible. I love my 2012 Studio Deluxe with Bareknuckle Pickups and will likely use that as a tour guitar but man, this 50s Standard is dream come true kind of awe. I'll absolutely use it at hometown shows, music videos and whatnot. It's gorgeous. Best part? I'm in it for almost nothing so I won't feel bad as it's MINE. If it gets a little love and slightly beat up, the more it ages the cooler it'll get! I'd buy another one if I had to. They're just awesome.

The Gibson LP ‘59 re-issue just doesn’t let you down (well.. me anyway). It’s got amazing tones, the chunky neck is perfect for scales and so much more playability.

In all reality, I don't think you need to be precious with it. New standards are not coveted like clean vintage examples, or of course, a real burst. I consider that a good thing! I'm glad you'll take that one out and play it live, that's what they're for! Cherish it, but don't shelter it, people wanna see and hear these things!

    I consider this guitar.

Just got tickets to see Tool in March. Adam Jones has some interesting riffs, not to mention the drummer for that band. Maynard is a bit of an asshole though.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
I had a solid week not long ago. I went and saw 311, Willie Nelson (Outlaw Festival), Eric Clapton, and Amos Lee in one week!

311 is always fun. Tim Mahoney is such a humble guy and just loves playing. I have some good video footage of him playing

Still haven't got flooring, long story. Amp is buried somewhere in there, wife put it out there. Been 3 months since I plugged in I think?

311 haha! Got a lot of memories just hearing that name. Smoked a lot weed and did a lot of skateboarding those days. Miss the 90s.

Yeah, I guess not much has changed for me lol, just switched to dirt bikes.
I had a buddy that his father owned Elizabeth Reeds music hall in Macon. Was just a bar where a lot of bands started at…anyways, I remember chillin with 311 back stage when I was in HS. Was fun as hell and would do it all over again if I could!

That's awesome. Yeah, there was so much good music coming out at that time. Records stores everywhere. It was great.

SO after the highlight of my week two weeks ago that 50s standard les paul... I'm getting a 1984 Les Paul CUSTOM today. Wow I'm on a lucky streak. I traded up heavily in my favor for the Les Paul now I'm pretty much stealing this Custom. Give me some time before I can add some photos. What I know so far. It's a case queen (CHAINSAW CASE), TP-6 tailpiece, all good hardware, wine red so dark it's almost black, ebony board. Nashville made.
