If you happen across a 2 pin weatherproof connector small enough to fit through a 1/2” circle. Let me know. I need one for my 3rd brake light

Got a bit of a start on @Empty_Lord and @Shadowhunter ’s projects since the fat GEPs arrived this week. I think I have most of the layout squared away. Triggers next and then it’s just a matter of the output feeds.

@Shadowhunter you may want to start thinking about mounting locations as I stuffed the fuses inside the GEP which means it has to be within 18” of the battery post. For @Empty_Lord ’s setup I had to use an external fuse pack. I am curious how that part will play out but for now I’m filing it under not my problem :)

my personal plan on the fuse side may be to employ the aid of MRBF fuses. I rather like them.

I can make it happen. I have a hammer, vice, drill and sheet metal. I can bend something to stick it on.

Amateur… all you need is Duck Tape and Bailing Wire.

EDIT: Yes, I know it’s Duct, but the young-uns know it better by the brand, which made it into the vernacular like Kleenex or Xerox with their fashion line.

I noticed that too… it’s probably hard for him to keep up… Dave expects him to do twice the crimping.

I received my harness in the mail today and I've got to say, Dave does some quality work. The thing is super solid and feels durable. I am very satisfied with the purchase and highly recommend his custom harnesses to others! I can finally clean up the only wiring I don't like in my truck by ditching the add a fuse.

Kimo the dog is the supervisor. Sometimes he will run in his sleep if he thinks I made a bad crimp.

Thanks! I am sure most will read this as utter BS but it's the genuine truth, I do what I do in pursuit of that which you've described. Not necessarily the words themselves, but knowing (or at least hoping) that I'm able to contribute towards a build that someone takes pride in. In the end it's all just stuff, but at the same time there's something rather pure about getting an inanimate object dialed in to serve a goal. That intangible feeling of satisfaction, it's just so damn elusive. I definitely do not get anything close to that feeling from parenting :)

For tonight I'm wrapping up a quick T for @SkyDivinTaco (shaka) and I'm going to attempt my first Tundra DIR for my running pal who has a 2016 and doesn't know he needs one yet :)

Then maybe tomorrow back into the headlight harness stuff, unless I feel like chipping away at that a bit more tonight.

Baby’s first Tundra DIR. The extra jumpers don’t make it extra fun really.

@AbnMP13 I skipped the line for yours just to get something out the door.

Just wanted to add my two cents to this thread and extoll the virtues of Dave and his harness expertise.

I spent Saturday installing the 2020 OEM LED headlights and Meso V5 turn signals, and I can safely say that I still wouldn't be done were it not for @daveeasa and his products.

Having the V5 DRL connector already integrated made things soooooo damn easy. And he responded to my DM's on the few issues I had (my own stupidity with flipped connectors).

This may be understatement of the year, but you can buy from Dave with confidence that you are getting quality stuff. And he's a good dude to boot.

Do you crimp and then solder? Have you made a backup Light harness for crashnburn? Do you think it’s safe to worry that the taillight circuit wires run too hot with 2x35w bulbs? What’s the airspeed of an unladen swallow in flight? Will I ever find love?

    1. No, solder first then crimp.
    1a. Shaken, not stirred
    2. No, but one day I hope to have something made which goes on his truck. That would be my crowning achievement, a Christmas gift for for the man who has everything.
    3. I like to worry about everything but I'm not sure worrying is safe, thread safe (computer joke) or important enough to lock in a safe (rich guy joke).
    4. African or European?
    5. There is no such thing.

Lol, nice. I used to make OBD0-OBD1 conversion harnesses for Honda’s way back in the day. Tedious work… I’ll probably hit you up when I figure out something to harness up.

    Work queue:
    1. 24 position GEP pos switched headlight harness for @Shadowhunter
    2. 24 position GEP neg switched headlight & horny harness for @Empty_Lord
    3. Light bar harness for @DaddyRy19 with design tbd
Completed / Ready for user acceptance testing (yay):
    1. Rock light harness with bed light trigger for @Dean62 for 10 cyclones
    2. AMP 3-position Y splitter + grille light harness for @AbnMP13
    3. Bumper harness for @Formidable with design a little tbd
    4. DIR for @TahKo
    Canceled (available elsewhere):
    1. ECT extension harness for @TahKo (need length estimate or go with 45" as we've done in the past?)
And, I'm off to haul horsies Sat - Mon so no progress expected. I'll probably have a bunch of OG product to dish out when I return but from there the road to headlight nirvana seems paved with butter smooth asphalt.

Now that I’ve returned it looks like I’m behind on a few things which I’ll need to catch up on over the next few days.

    1 DIR
    4 headlight conversion harnesses
    1 LED T tap
