I topped off my gas and somehow my Distance to E never reset and it’s been 50-60 miles now. Has anyone have this happen to their truck?

I restarted my truck too…didn’t really do much. Currently at 226 DTE but my gas gauge shows full

You can disconnect the battery and it should reset.

Mine is around 246 when I fill up the tank. If it still reads the old mileage from before the refill then disconnecting and reconnecting the battery should solve your problem.

Im pretty sure you only need to disconnect the negative for a second

I had this happen. I just left it alone and the next time I refilled it went back up in the 300s

Does the "miles to empty" change with MPG? I'm at 15.5 MPG and when I refill it'll be anywhere between 246 and 256. It used to be like 320 or even 400 before my aftermarket lift wheels and tires.

Obviously it'll drop tremendously if it was at 400 ^

Yeah I guess resetting the eco MGP trip thing might help.

SSO hybrid bumper, Warn winch, RCI skid trilogy, RRW sliders, everything in the cheap/free mods thread, and of course the frame recall work.
Mine always goes to 385 after filling up, even though I actually can only drive 290 per tank. I've had a few times where it didn't reset when I started up after filling, but it ended up fixing itself the next start.

So I’m still driving…somehow the DTE managed to sync in the long run. The DTE decreases slowly enough so that it matches the gauge.

I guess this truck is “smart” but with extra steps

I don't know but I'm guessing it resets only if you put a certain small predetermined by Toyota amount in. I topped off once with maybe 3 gallons or so for an unscheduled trip I was about to take and it didn't reset. Every other time it did.

that distance to empty also considers the way U drove out the last tankful

mine will show into 400s......................i average 19-24 mpg

no less only true /accurate MPG is actual gallons pumped

    using actual odometre miles

no less i have pumped 20 gallons...................been told at least 1 gallon in reserve

U also have important info warning on Ur dash

could mean U have other issues

Sometimes it's good to search the topic before posting. You might just find a thread (or 7) on the topic.

It's a warning for taking a picture of your gauge cluster while driving. (doing 70mph!)
