It's only common for fools who go back to the Stealership after the warranty period.

I learned the hard way once when I used to bring my Honda CRV for oil changes. They stripped the bolt in the oil pan and they wanted to charge me $400 to replace it. Only that dealership did the oil changes. They refused to accept responsibility, since the warranty was over.

I left and never went back, and just had a friend put in a bigger bolt in the pan, and it never caused me problems again.

One can never have too many light bars.
Check out a local shop. Dealers always make it seem like they have special knowledge or tools and in very specific cases they might. But if you are getting basic maintenance done they will definitely be cheaper with the same, if not better quality work in most cases.

Maybe you were thinking 100,000 km which is roughly the same distance.

    Choices.

I would do all that myself, in my garage with my tools and years of experience working on vehicles/equipment. You went another path, sure it hurts a little coughing up $1300 for something that you really don't see or experience any improvement on the vehicle. But you also didn't have to buy thousands of dollars worth of tools or spend time learning how to wrench on dirty greasy trucks/cars/motorcycles.

If you can't do maintenance, be happy you can afford to pay for maintenance.

sheesh that sucks. My dealership (which is great btw) accidentally tore the weather stripping off the roof so they replaced it under warranty.. but they replaced the wrong side. I noticed when I got home but I really didn't care because it didn't need replacing to begin with, they just felt bad about it coming off lol. Anyway Its now cut into pieces because my roof rack

Pro move. Without tools/place and other available DD, just pay and forget about.
I'm sure bay area $1300 is not the end of the life.

He didn’t. Apparently OP cancelled his service before they started to work on it. And not really sure how we would be able to properly judge the fairness of the price without knowing exactly what work they were gonna do.

If you want good service then shop around because your dealer doesn't have your best interest in mind $$$. There are many higher quality maintenance shops that can do as good or better than the average dealership.

Are you referring to Californias who fled to Texas? I'm sure they felt home when the power went out...

the dealer won't replace your stock plastic oil filter housing with a nice OEM aluminum one

the dealer won't use a torque wrench for ever single nut/bolt.

I mean if you are leasing the truck then F it.. but if not then just know this: The tech who is changing your oil or plugs or air filter has been doing that all day and has a few more cars waiting for him till he can clock out. you think he gives two sh*ts about doing it perfect?
