How is it cruisin down the highway with the 5.29s? I’m sure it holds the hills nicely, but do you ever think of getting of getting 35s or wish you’d gone 4.88 instead? Just curious.

yes sir, 5.29's and arb rear locker, helps a lot but has its own bugs, spedo is crazy off, if im going 20 the spedo reads off 30-35ish went to 35's and its still about the same, besides that its nice, little deeper gears than factory but not bad

Here's mine. Got it lifted about 2.5 inches with Bilstein 5100s and a rear 3 leaf AAL from wheelers. Falken wildpeak at3w 33 inch pizza cutters. Has jbl UCAs that needs to go in and a drive line vibration issue that needs to be taken care of but other than that great truck.

So having the 5.29s isn’t too crazy then eh? I’m on 33s but I think a 35” highway tire would be better for highway driving

Just be ready to cut and hammer everything to make them fit, other than that it’s been great. Ride quality is better and I can run through all my gears, of course still not a fast truck, but it’ll actually get out of its own way a little better

i sit around 2800-3000 at 75 with 5.29's but my spedo reads a lor faster than im going, 35's helped a lot but still off. even with the 6" im sure you will need a body mount chop to clear, my wifes dad has a 8" fabtech on his 06 4 door and he rubs with 35's

Oh ok well ya I just might then. Seems like a i have ok clearance for now but oh well. And that actually doesn’t seem bad at all. That’s like 200 less than the rpm calculator on nitro gear website. I’m expecting to be around 3200 @70mph on 33s. Because as of now, my speed/rpm’s with the 4.11s are the result of what would be a 31.5” tire, even though they’re technically 32.95” in spec. But if I was able to do 70 @ 3k that would be even better

Hi guys. Recently finished up a bunch of maintenance/tires/upgrade work.

2005 5 lug base model bought new in October 2005. 195K miles.

    Pro Comp 65660k leveling
    Jeep takeoffs 245/75R17
    Bilstein 5100 rear/4600 fronts
    US Wheel hubcentric 1" adapters
    New brakes/bushings/tie rods/ball joints etc
    Bench to bucket swap
    Black box mod
    3rd gen TRD exhaust
    sound deadening/foam
Bunch of other little mods and whatnot from lurking over the years

Rusty roof/paint fixes with 2K rattle can are next then tube bumpers

I got a new frame 4 or 5 years ago for the recall and at this point I'll probably just stick another engine in if this one ever shits the bed. I still love this budget little truck. Now more than ever. It ain't much but she's paid for and it's been my daily/work truck for 17 years.

    IMG_8029.jpg

Little stock wheel in the back when I was turning it around in my driveway.

No rub or body mount chop was even thought about during the process of this build.

Finally got it done. Fox 2.0s, 2021 leaf pack + AAL, dobinsons shocks in the rear. Got about 2.25-2.5” at the front.

Do you have suggestions for the rear?

I want to do 5100s all around w/ 884s in the front to lift 1.75”. My hope is to have the back level with 4-500lbs in it (cap + 2 people).

My current springs are not enough when I have to carry stuff around in the truck. They were warrantied a few years ago so I don’t know if they are inadequate or shot.

My thought was icon rxt but Idk if this will add too much rear lift.

like others have mentioned, everyone’s specs are for extra cabs. I’m rebuilding the front in two weeks so I need to get this stuff ordered. Completely confused.

I ordered from alcan. I told them what lift and payload I wanted and they built them to spec.
