Ok fine. I’ll edit my earlier statement. For $50 I’d consider having it done, IF I was in a rush. Most anything north of that and I’ll take my time and put that money towards beer for my wrap sessions.

I thought about having it done then decided just to jump in and do it myself. I went with the Invisaframe tailored kit. Mainly because Ride Wrap wasn’t up to speed on my newer redesigned model frame at the time. Pretty simple if you’ve got patience. Most likely you won’t need to disassemble anything. I threw the bike up on the stand and just went for it. I watched a couple of YouTube videos first just to see what I was getting into. Simple, patience and lots of water mixed with baby shampoo is the trick, and maybe a beer or two. The squeegee thing I found was a pain. I quickly tossed it and just used my “wet” fingers to manipulate and bubbles out. Don’t sweat it on any remaining bubbles that you don’t get out immediately. I took a sewing needle with me on my next couple of rides. Took a break mid ride and popped any bubbles I found. The tape self heals the hole. It’s a 3 hour process but as stated can be meditative with the right mindset.

I envy anyone that can squeeze out 3 hours of tasks that require a meditative state with a spouse and kids. My family has no sense of boundaries. There is no sanctuary in my house

I get my quiet time after ~9pm. Both kids and wife are usually asleep by then, so my sanctuary is a time not a place. I just choose to give up sleep for it!

My wife is a night owl(her sanity time) and my kids wake up at the crack of dawn. I need to learn to live without sleep!

Totally a timing thing. All the wraps I’ve done were in 1ish hour sessions after the kids were in bed and the wife was either reading or doing school work. I just pull the stand into the living room and work next to her. We’re both happy to do what we want while still spending ‘just us’ time together as a couple.

I’m so unimaginative sometimes. I’ve never thought of pulling my stuff in the living room. Probably hard for my wife to focus on whatever while I curse my bike but I’ll have great light.

I get it, definitely all in the timing. Send the wifey and kiddos out for movie night and get after it. ;)

I’m potentially buying a frame soon so all this frame protection stuff has me thinking.

Nice! First thing before you hit the trails. And if you’re building it from scratch, well you know.
