Guys! Running around in low range with the supercharger feels like being in a buggy! This rocks!!!

You should be able to monitor timing through an obd device. I usually don't here the knock but my truck pulls timing going up most hills. If I see 15° I generally down shift to play it safe. 5 psi with the turbo I notice the torque increase more than the hp increase. Pulls hills much longer in a gear than it used to.

If you are running lean in open loop I'd consider a better fuel pump. Closed loop the ecu will always be targeting 14.7.

I'll definitely have to look how to see that through OBD. Thank you for the feedback on that.

I did discover the cause of my timing being pulled as it has only been in one reoccurring situation-

After work I'll start truck up and it'll idle for a few minutes. Cruise down a couple small streets and then gas it pretty hard to merge into a main street. It's right there it'll pull timing under boost.

I recreated the situation a couple more times, but had "purged" the methanol line while I was idling in the parking lot. It was apparent that no timing had been pulled anymore on that first hard take off. So that tells me I am having some backflow or draining of the line when not using the truck for 12 hours or so. Not really a big deal to me given the situation...

After some research, I decided that Bluedrive is probably one of the more reputable OBDII devices out there.

My dad has been having what I believe is an ICP issue on his 6.0 diesel Ford (for those of you who are familiar....) and this device will give me a reading of that pressure. I'm sure others can do it too if I looked hard enough, but this seems like it'll fit the ticket just fine for my truck too but that's what mostly sold me on it.

I have two of the green OBDLink ones that I've had for awhile now. I haven't tried them in any new vehicles, might be lacking in some of the sensors they can read. It reads everything my Toyotas monitor just fine though. I use the Torque app with a tablet mounted on my dash all the time. I think in terms of speed it is the ecu that limits things. My 3rz tacoma has a very slow refresh rate compared to my 5vz T100 and I assume its the ecu differeneces.

I'm finally starting to put some dirt miles on them now. So far I have zero complaints and nothing negative to say! Only time will tell though. Seem to feel fine on road.

I have my 38" spare in the bed against the tailgate and against the cab side I have a tote with straps, blocks, shackles, winch blankets, oil, rags, as well as basic tools and jack. There is a trail welder and cordless grinder I'll put back there when some big trips come up too.

To add to that, the window on my other car decided to randomly explode so I've been taking the truck to the store, work, and other places as the daily for now. Absolutely LOVE the shell still! Had this not been a regular cab, I'd probably have a much different opinion on the shell. But I still dig it for now.

Been a while since I've dropped in here. Come a long ways!

What's your spring rate? Thats not flexing super well.

Thanks man! It's been a long work in progress...

Rear end seems to be doing okayish but the front is not compressing fully at HARD angles due to spring rate too high. I'm 700 in the front and may most likely drop to 650 for spring rate or maaaaybe 600 someday. I'll definitely have to valve my shocks stiffer up front, even now.

Regardless, I'm just so dang happy to be driving this finally. But it'll hit the lil tweaker stage pretty soon lol

ooof yeah thats way to high for a 4 banger with a tube bumper. Id go to 650s for sure or 600s. Either way, can always add some double or triple bypasses to the front. That'd be the best way valving wise.

    keep it up!

Eh, I have a 4 banger and tube bumper like him, and I'm needing to go to 700's to maintain the ride height I want.
I'm sure our crawlboxes contribute a good bit to that need though.

I'd be curious on Tyler's weight, but I'm sure a lot of it would be those 38's lol
I'm 4460lb w/ 2600 of that up front (with an empty bed).

    yeah see Im a 1000lbs more with 700s. I don't think you need 700s...

granted thats with Long travel so different lever ratio..

    Still, 650s should be plenty.

I didn't either, but my 3" of preload to maintain my lift says otherwise.
I called accutune, who I got my shocks from and they said that I should go to 700's.

I'll take this topic to another thread. Don't wanna hog Tyler's

So you're running 700s too? It is weird how all this stuff all works out... For me, my coils just baaaarely float at full droop if I am not strapped. That was sign #1 my rate was too high. Sign #2 for me is that at full stuff pointing down hill on one side still won't fully compress my shock. So I know at least in my situation I need to go softer for sure on the springrate.

I'll get weighed in someday. My winch line is steel cable and I am sure that doesn't help either.

Heck man, ask away in this thread if you can get any answers... I am curious to learn more about springrates and leverage ratios too!

Speaking of lack of flex... BRRAAAAAAP from the other day.

Looks like IFS is going to be seeing a lot more of this. Can't wait to try this out in the rocks someday, but I'll most definitely need more seat time before getting too adventurous.

Honestly it sounds like you may be shooting for too much ride height. I think the ifs guys around here all run 600’s or 650’s at most and aim for 1-2” over height to keep CV’s happy. Crawl box is contributing very little to the nose weight.

@Robertocritser or @allmotorrex will know better than me on the IFS spring rates
