Has anyone ever done raptor coated fender flares?

I’m just wondering if anyone’s done a raptor coated (paint matched) fender flare. The paint on mine at 1600kms is just awful and I want to find some other solution.. or just different fender flares lol

 

I wouldn't call them "Raptor" coated if I were you. You'll anger the anti-Raptor light crowd on this site. You don't want to feel their wrath.

However, I have painted my fender flares. There are originally matte black from the factory. I had the dealership paint them after I bought it. It cost me $600 total. Here are the before and after pictures.

 

Looks like mine now hopefully you have better luck with paint. I brought mine back to the dealer and they said they wouldn’t do anything about it because it was front facing damage. Pretty disappointed but i guess it is what it is.

 

My truck has 10,000 miles on it now, and the paint on the flares has help up perfectly. No chips, flaking, fading. It looks damn near perfect.

 

I've been thinking about doing mine. I got a mismatched Leer shell recently and raptor lined it a couple weeks ago. My flares are dinged up from flying rocks so it seems like a good solution to hide some minor imperfections and match the topper. Doing the topper was easy so I assume the flares would be too. The hardest part was taping everything off nicely.

 

I plasti-dipped my chrome bumper caps about a year and a half ago and they are rock solid. I just did my flares and the look great so far. Good thing about Plasti-dip is if you apply it correctly, you can just peal it off and go back to stock. It took 2 cans 4/5-ish coats each flare.

 

Rust oleum truck bed coating , is not that thick and has a slight texture comparable to stock . I did my grill and thinking of doing flares .

 

I'm always impressed what people do with Plasti-Dip. That isn't what it looks like when I do it.

 

I find plastidip looks great from a distance, it's just up close in person when you can more closely inspect it that it doesn't look as smooth and it's easier to see where drips or peels occurred.

 

Raptor coat... you're just asking for it aren't you?
I coated my wife's JK fenders (Plastic) with UV stabile Line-X. They have to be encapsulated or it may peel at some point. They came out really nice and I have thought of doing the flares on my OR. I paid less than $300, maybe $290? for it. Her fenders are a lot bigger than the flares on a Tacoma. There is some thickness added with the coating. I put these back on the Jeep with riv-nuts and bolts and they are much better than the snap fitting used from the factory. The Line-X guy did a great job.

 

My fender flares are fading too. I kept telling myself it's not a big deal, I can ignore them...then I see this post and I'm halfway reaching to my phone to call up the company that Line-X'd my TRD Pro skid plate.

 

All that matters is that you like them, but honestly I gotta say I liked the contrast of the black flares better. It tied in with your steps and bumper.
