I hear everyone saying "Wait, WAIT to buy anything new, just wait and see!!" But, will all of the inflated vehicle prices deflate along w/ my Tacoma's current inflated trade value? Call me what you will, but I'm likely buying a Gladiator Mojave. Should I still wait?

MSRP of $52k and real-world purchase price of around $47k. Sounds like a Lunar Rock Pro to me o_O

Doubtful, equally equipped they lick 60k. Gladies are nice but pricy

Then again 2008 was that long ago..... just saying.

I do find a bit different on this forum the amount of people that buy and sell so many Tacomas. Seems I keep reading I traded in my 2012 for 2016 and then a 2019 and just my 2021. I buy a truck maybe once every 10yrs. Especially coming the LC world were you can't pry one out of most owners hands regardless of age.

I mean, if you don't really have a response, you don't just have to fill the space with words.

Needs change and so do options. No such thing as a Gladiator in 2017...

Tbf, I didn't want to trade my 2005 SR5 for my current one. I also don't really get the constant replacement cycle that seems to be prevalent in parts here.

My buddy has done this since the Tacoma hit the market. Drives it til it needs tires at 40k. Trades it in for brand new. His payment hasn't changed but $50 since 2001. So if your willing to have a monthly payment forever then its worth it to know your always in something brand new. Resale value is prime on these, so it's easy to go on say take this and give me that for $20 more a month.

Me -- I'll drive mine for 20 years like I did my last one

Figures, I linked the wrong one, and I'd be ok w/ a Rubi too. Short version is, there's lots of options that aren't needed, and heated LEDs can be added for about $800. My question though, was should everyone wait, or are there exceptions?

My question though, was are there exceptions, or should EVERY wise auto shopper wait? Should I sell my Tacoma for $12,000 more than I owe and buy a $23k Certified Crosstrek to drive for a few months. It's class leading for its trade value, and I could get by w/ out a truck bed for a year if needed.

Nice picture... you live on Kauai? I just had a flashback to our vacation a few years ago where my wife and I observed, "Tacomas are the official vehicle of the state of Hawaii."

The dealership here has three new, white, low trim level '21 Tundras on the lot and not much else... the whole section that used to be crammed full of new cars contains well-spaced used Toyotas now. Last time I drove past the local Subaru dealership that normally would have ~400 new Subies on the lot, I couldn't find any... all used cars parked to fill as much space as possible.

So inventory levels should be back to normal again in a few weeks then right? :D:rofl:

Ferrari actually screens their buyers as part of brand protection. It's not uncommon for a buyer to have the cash and be told no or you must buy a "lower" model Ferrari before ordering one of their "top" models.
