I grabbed me a 102” wide deck over trailer. She’s wide but fits the truck nicely. Bonus my tent fits perfect on the tent

That’s what I just found, boy those are pricey new and doubt I’ll find one used. The hunt continues.

You can find them used look at your local gov auctions and commercial equipment type places those typically haul heavier equipment. I'll get the info off mine and let you know, IIRC it's a 96" deck.

Yeah I searched for about 6 months and the very few I found were either in terrible shape or close enough to the price of new that I just ended up ordering new with the specs and few extra features I wanted.

I found one locally that's new for $5500 so I may just hop on that. Not deck over like yours but should still work well for me with the drive over ramps and bobbed bed so nothing will hang off the back.

Nice! Yeah mine was $6300 out the door for a 24’ deck over with dove tail, ramps, and front box. Though the storage box isn’t as big as I hoped in person. But it will do. But yeah that’s around the starting prices for what I found out here. Having a trailer is a game changer for big trips

Yeah I'm excited to have this option. Will make trips a lot more comfortable and less stressful. Funny enough, the wife was on board with selling my SUV for a Tundra AND getting the trailer to haul around the truck because "it's fewer miles on Betty White so you won't need to replace her as soon." Can't argue with that.

I love the box on mine it's where the straps and stuff get stored after unloading, spare hub, bearings, lug wrench, bottle jack, chocks, blocks. It's invaulable for me. Coming from a low boy race car trailer where the only storage was a rack for tires having that box to put a bunch of trailer specific stuff and not have to haul it in the truck or put in the garage when not in use is sweet.
Just needs some good tie downs and it'll be a perfect start. I need to put my tie downs to the metal frame. Also what I have is some big chain with hooks for the rear. I run an axle strap around the axle drive forward till they're tight then just use ratchet straps for the front. Makes it 100x faster loading and unloading. The chains I have set so the middle distribution joint on the leafs of the trailer is level when the jeep is on the trailer and hooked to my truck. You can also get these weld on tie down points for your axle my jeep has them I just like axle straps better.

Used car haulers are a dime a dozen sub 2k around here. They all need a little love, but not too bad.

I see a lot of decent truggy builds for sale that make the whole thing very tempting. I wonder how painful it would be to haul a truggy with my Tacoma?

It's not that bad just DO IT!!!!!
Shameless my taco hauls the shitbox crawler plug. Day I brought it home so now everything sits a lot better and not some makeshift strapping down.

What'd I'd really like is a steel deck so I can just weld on some tie-down points exactly where I want them. Then I can copy what Joe did with his 4runner and get those over the tire straps. It was pretty quick and easy and versatile for towing other trucks on there.

I've been able to find some good used ones for around $3k, but none are wide enough, they all seem to be 82"-84" wide. Damn you betty white and your unnecessary poke.

I think it’s doable. For what it’s worth I have the towing package. Not sure what a truggy typically weighs in at. I like the smaller truggy builds. I think the ones I’ve been seeing are based off 80’s Toyotas, but might be stretched JKs. Hard for me to tell without body panels haha

it’s either that or wait and see what Busted Knuckle can do since they’re only a couple hours away. If I’m being honest that’s probably the end game anyways. I mean why the hell not? I have perfect bouncer hills right in my backyard :stirthepot::stirthepot::stirthepot:

Yeah the tire straps are nice but if you don't have tie downs in a bunch of different spots hauling different vehicles with different wheel bases and track widths get tricky. They have to be set just right to actually work as intended. Look at a roll back that uses them they have their quick hook hole cut in the bed all the way up and down both sides and usually 2 widths for cars then trucks. That's why I like just 4 D-rings and ratchet straps can set any vehicle where it needs to be on the trailer and just find 4 good strap down points and go.

Hahaha I know you do!!!! So a bouncer typically weighs in the 5k give or take on up to over 6k lbs. Most builds like my Jeep are in the mid 4s and small stuff like an old yota or zuk are high 3s some get lighter like low 3s high 2s. All depends how you build them.

Haha at 90” wide my truck wasn’t going to fit on anything but a full width trailer comfortably. Still some stuff I want to do to customize it like adding a second spare, fuel can rack, and winch. But that will all come with time.

Get that baby some less hokey pokey wheels! I have no idea how wide my truck is. I just know it can’t go any more narrow haha. Did you end up getting glass?

By the time I buy new wheels I may as well just buy the proper width trailer. And no, I sold the glass locally. I ended up not wanting it.
