Which 3 inch coilovers would give the best on road ride quality?

I've got a 2007 double cab 4x4 on 285/70/17s and it currently has the Bilstein toytec 3 inch coilovers on it. After 70k miles they're starting to go bad. I'm looking for another set of 3 inch lift coilovers. This is my daily so I don't plan to do any off roading, the only thing I care about is on road ride quality. I was thinking of getting the same Bilstein toytec ones again for $600 but was also looking at the Toytec boss 2.0 for $1000. Would the boss 2.0 be smoother and worth the extra 400? I'm also open to other recommendations. Thanks for the help!

 

I dont think you could go wrong with any of those. But please save yourself now and do not get any fingers Rough Country. They don't call it Rough Coutry for nothing.

Take into account the 2.0 uses a 700lb spring. Your current Toytecs use a 600lb spring.

 

How would that effect the ride quality? the 700lb spring would be rougher right?

 

They’ll be stiffer than the 600lb. If you don’t have any aftermarket bumper etc. probably be a bit firm on the road. I’ve been looking at them also and so far that’s what’s stopped the 700lb spring. I’ve been planning to call toytec and ask them their thoughts.

 

For sure yeah I don't have an aftermarket bumper or anything that would add weight. I tow a 21 foot boat but the Bilstein/toytec combo did fine with that. I guess now I'm leaning toward just getting the same ones I had before and saving $400 if its not gonna be much of an improvement. I liked the red on the boss 2.0 but I guess they might be overkill for my application.

 

Anything over 2.5" starts getting pricey and pushes the stock suspension beyond its nominal use.

A simple Bilstein 6112 2.5" lift would yield the best results paired with upper arms with lots of caster.

Otherwise I stand by Icon coil overs. Toytech is good for on road but at my shop we are starting to lose confidence in the durability of their products.
