I like my MX4 Bakflip, but I wish it didn't scratch so easily.

Check out the BAKFLIP revolver. I love it and seals really good. Rolls up to the back window so you do not lose rear window vision. Vinyl cover with aluminum slats

I’ve got a smoking deal on a roll n lock… live in SEVA… would be willing to make a road trip to off load it.. I have a LEER cap on the way. 4 months old. Like new.

I thought the materials they used made them difficult to scratch? Is that not the case?

Let me know the deal and I will do some research on it. I have not looked at those too much.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/roll-n-lock-retractable-tonneau.735132/

Roll n lock comes with a great warranty. It’s a vinyl top with aluminum underneath. Rolls up into a canister that’s about 8” deep. Therefore if you need open bedspace it only takes 8”. Completely lockable. Nearly watertight, leaks a little in downpours and car washes near back drivers side as do most covers. Comes with gutter system and drain tubes.

I have had the Lomax cover on my 2020 SR5 for about a year now. It is fantastic looking low profile. It is fairly water tight but not perfect. I have seen a few drips of water in the corners up front and in the back near the tailgate where the bed side curves a little. I removed the rails and added a thin strip of weather stripping so will see if that helps I got the idea from another member months ago. No bed cover is going to be perfectly water tight. None of my stuff had ever got soaked.

The cover comes off easy and one person can handle it. It is made of aluminum so it's not heavy.
The standard version doesn't Stand up against the cab. The stance version does though.

Bakflip says it is powdercoated but, IMO, it isn't a very thick/strong/durable coating. I learned to be careful with what I might set or move around that I set on it.

If you're going Bakflip check out the G2 also. Same cover as the MX4 except a glossy finish and a bit less expensive. Mine's been great so far.

I've been debating on this tonneau cover as well. How are you liking it so far? How's the install? Haven't seen much videos on Tacos for this cover.

x2 for the Revolver. Supposedly holds up to 300lbs on it. I like it more because when my bed rack is on, I can roll it up and access my whole bed. No more crawling under the OEM cover.

No money, all went to truck...
Bakflip allows you to have a fully open bed. I think the Toyota one does not.

Bakflip customer service is excellent. I had some delamination of a panel. I sent pictures to show the issue and they sent a replacement to me within a few weeks. I'm sold on the company.

I’m definitely a fan of the Bakflip MX4. As far as it interfering with your factory bed rails, you’ll have to remove them and lower them but you’ll still get to use them. If you’ve seen the installation videos, once you remove the factory bed rails and install the cover, the bed rails go back on a little bit lower but into the brackets that come with the cover so you won’t have to drill any holes to reinstall them. It also comes with the square padding that will eliminate the slight openings at the ends of the steel front bed rail of your factory bed liner. Helps keep water from getting inside, along with installing the drip tubes that come with the Bakflip MX4 cover.

If you like the OEM look, I recommend the Extang Solid Fold 2.0. Great great cover. I eventually "upgraded" to a Diamondback, but the one thing I hate about DB, aside from the price, is that it becomes a bitch to remove and reinstall/realign.

I use the all black Undercover brand. You can find them under $900 if you do some research. It’s solid, stays open with the shocks that are removable, locks, takes two minutes to remove if you have something really large that’s taller than your bed. You can stand on it. You can make a tent out of it if you throw a tarp over it while it’s open.

I feel like the best thing I can tell you depends on the use of your truck. If you want to haul you can always go with something heavy duty like a diamondback but I’d also throw some bed stiffeners in there. If it’s just a daily driver to protect your stuff I’d get any type of tonneau cover where the third panel comes up too. Reason being is because I had the factory 2019 tonneau cover and hated it bc 1: it leaked and 2: the third panel didn’t fold up so on a 5’ bed it limits you when you want to haul something bigger in the bed such as a huge TV without taking it off.

I really like my Peragon. My only complaint is that due to Covid they aren’t color matching last I heard.

Love my diamondback. Everything stays dry and I can put a bunch of stuff in there not worrying if someone will steal it.

The truck I ordered from the dealer was supposed to arrive with the stock tonneua cover on it, but must have been overlooked. They said a possible 4-6 months wait for it. I guess they can't find chips for the tonneua covers. Anyway, if anyone wants the Toyota tonneua cover, you might have to wait.
