So there's this Georgia feller I met whilst hunting in Illinois, anycrippledho...he's been trying to shoot a certain deer in Georgia....the other day, while my buddy was in a treestand, the deer walked right past him....he never saw it.
This is a trailcam pic the guy just sent me, you can see his legs in the treeo_O

Only 85?? You know you don't HAVE to stay in a stand all day, right?

But I get it because I would sweat my ass off. I may understand the pajamas better now.

I too have been a victim of treestand induced nappies causing a missed rendezvous with a deer.

I've never napped up there; I'll chew, I'll fidget, I'll play on my phone, I'll piss from the tree if I really have to...but I'm not a treestand napper. The guy I sometimes hunt with; I think he hunts solely for the treestand naps.

In my neck of the woods you don’t use tree stands. You walk. Then you walk. Then you walk some more. Uphill. Both ways.

Then you see a buck across the canyon. You carefully aim and if you’re lucky, you miss and Mr. Buck hightails it over the ridge. Never to be seen again.

If you’re not so lucky, you watch as it tumbles down into the bottom of the canyon. Where hunting ethics require that you retrieve it. Unfortunately, old ma nature neglected to put in trails or escalators.

So, moral of the story. I don’t go hunting.

:Dsounds like my stepdad's hunting stories. Hiking and more hiking, his stupid brother, more hiking, more stupid brother nonsense, and lots of missed shots.

I do remember a massive elk hide he kept when I was younger and I think that was something like a 4 or 5 mile hike out in the mountains.

On the very few occasions I have hunted, I've never been in a tree stand.

Joe shows up at the house with a 12-point buck over his shoulder.

His wife asks him “Where’s your brother, Clyde?”

“Aw hell. He passed out on the trail. I gotta go back and get him.”

“What? You brought the deer but left your brother?!”

“Well, I figgered ain’t nobody gonna steal Clyde”
