I do one standard pilot evaluation, one instrument eval and one test pilot evaluation a year. When I was a junior pilot I stressed about it but now it's just another day at work.

The more you do, the easier they become. I think checkrides for new certificates or type-ratings are more stressful than the annual ride to keep current - the further into your career you get the less often you’re doing type/cert checkrides.

@Bushed my view of the smoke from that fire. Hoping the winds don't switch and start coming out of the North!

Looks good where you are. Nice view! Here's hoping the wind doesn't shift. I love a campfire as much as the next person, but who wants to breathe that in constantly while waiting for the rain, or a change in wind direction?

...^^^... Went up in this WACO today as a paying passenger and took a friend for the 1 hour ride around the city and country side.

Fun little plane with a tight front (for 2) cockpit.

Awesome. I was invited to go to the show but I couldn’t commit because of work. Once I found out I had the weekend off, it was too late to make plans :frusty:

two EA/F-18's were back today. Interrupted a conference call I was on. Pretty sure my coworkers lost a bit of hearing before i could mute my connection

If you can get to the airfield while they are there most Navy Pilots and back seaters will happily show off their airplane. It takes awhile to fuel them up so you usually have plenty of time after they finish their cookies.

probably only a 8-10 minute drive over for me, they were here a couple hours. it was just super loud when they took off and came over my house. they usually leave the other way.

Someone's been testing a C-130 in my neck of the woods today. I'm half tempted to post this on Next Door and see what kind of conspiracy theories I can get going

The FBO usually has that covered when they hand over the credit card for several thousand gallons of fuel
