All I need to do now is fix some of the body damage, get a set of high clearance steel bumpers made by my friend, and bed line the entire truck OD green. I think my truck with be complete in the next couple of months, then I’m going to start on the interior and completely revamp it.

I actually got the headlights and taillights for a TOTAL of $100. I bartered for them for the most part. Just need to finish wiring up the DRL’s.

Looks insane... is it 4x4 or 2x4?

    It’s a 2011 4x4 auto. I’ll never part with it.

Yup. I’m ordering a new smoked one this weekend along with a spare gasket. I’m also going to work on the suspension since I have some pretty radical taco lean. I’ll probably have the raptor lining done before the end of the year

I’ve seen your truck. I love white tacos. One of the main things on my to do list is a snorkel. What snorkel do you have?

I was considering getting a hilux snorkel but can’t decide if the $100 price cut is worth it. Kind of leaning towards it but Robinson’s is calling to me

It's a Dobinson's. Much cheaper than the ARB snorkel but I don't like the fit at all.
I'm looking at a different one that I saw on eBay. It looks like it will fit the contour of the fender better. Also, the larger hole looks to be smaller which is a plus.

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/3839684800...e:2.7L+2694CC+l4+GAS+DOHC+Naturally+Aspirated

When you do a search, they all seem to have the same part number.

From what I understand, both the 4.0l and 2.7l can take the same snorkels. The intakes pull air from the exact same place. All that matters is if the snorkel tubing lines up. Main thing with the 4.0l is the fact that you want a wider diameter snorkel to compensate for that. The 2.7l doesn’t need as huge of a snorkel to get the necessary air into the intake. Snorkels act somewhat like ram air intakes and making sure you aren’t choking off air is the biggest factor. The best way to get more air into your snorkel is to add a cyclone style prefilter like you see on a lot of foreign overlanding rigs and even on farm equipment.

I would imagine they both can but I’m unsure so I can’t say for sure lol. Ya I’ve wanted a prefilter for awhile now but I’m looking at replacing my truck possibly soon so prob won’t

Since making this post my truck got rear ended in a hit and run accident… just my luck. It’s leaning hard to the left now (over an inch) and one of the dents on my bedside panel buckled a bit. If I have frame damage it might get totaled. I’m so thankful I have full coverage…

That’s what I’m thinking. It was almost totaled a few years back and had frame damage. I had to fight my insurance tooth and nail to keep them from declaring it totaled. If the frame is bent again I doubt I’ll be able to fight it. I’m super pissed off. I’ve had my reg cab 4x4 for over a decade. I planned on keeping it til death. I doubt I’ll find another similar reg cab to replace it with if it is totaled. The irony is the damage doesn’t look bad. My frame mounted trailer hitch took the brunt of the impact, so all that energy got transferred to the frame. I’m so nervous about it

ya i wonder how much a new frame would be for your truck? where you could buy it back from insurance for cheap and then buy a frame and fix it up

Possibly but I honestly won’t be able to afford that in the long run. I’m a parts delivery driver for Toyota and my truck is how I make my living. If it’s totaled I’m going to have to take the path of least resistance and likely have to get another truck.
