Just added toolbox and roof-rack to haul my fishing boat 100's of miles into the backwoods every week. Goodrich K02s, Bilstein 5100 front and back, no lift.
A couple of fishing trips in the last week. One shown here was a nice private spot. This was my first time here. Lost a nice 18 inch trout at the net, three other takes that did not stay on. Couple of ATV guys stopped by, both had Dodge 4x4s but said they won’t take them here. Had to do the usual tree clearing to widen the trail a bit, and 4-lo 1st gear the last steep half mile. Bottomed out several times but nothing bad, need to cut polish some deep truck length scratches out. Thats ok no big deal when its a nice spot

Looks like a great place to puff a bowl and watch the breakers. Need to go there.

We didn't even take boards that day. Took a good book, a cooler, a couple of chairs and we sat there enjoying the salt air and the sound of the breakers.

I hear you. I have been known to do things like that. I like to think of it as “becoming one with myself”. Ha ha, actually I just dig the solitude. You did good. Cheers

Offroaded my new Tacoma for the first time this weekend. Class VI roads in the Hancock NH area.

It was really great. With the combination of ATRAC/MTS plus the occasional use of the rear locker, the truck just climbed up everything I pointed at. It was coming down stuff that was hairy as I tried to manage the long rear overhang and generally low clearance (compared to my previous rigs). Shockingly, not a single scratch on the paint. The skidplates certainly did their job, and the bottoms of the tube steps and front mud flaps took a little scrubbing as well.

A small lift, more aggressive tires, and real sliders would make this truck pretty fantastic.

It really made me miss offroading, but I don't know how much of it I can stomach in a $40k truck. If only the entire 4x4 market wasn't insane I'd be looking for a cheap older truck to build for the trails.

Not many pictures because I was driving, but it was a great day. Other than myself and the nearly stock 100-Series LC behind me, the other trucks were much more built. Lots of ledges, many deep muddy water pits over the tires, and what seemed at times to be endless stretches of loose, basketball-sized rocks to pick your way over. A nice challenge for a stock rig for sure.

Some time at the pay-n-spray bay and 2 full washes in the driveway and it's just about back to clean. :D

Tried for Argentine Pass, Co today before the snow got to bad. Unfortunately we only made it half way before it started snowing to hard and didn't feel comfortable continuing
