    Nice.
I ordered the same. Was actually gonna order black, but just couldn't do it again. Don't feel like washing it every other day. MGM looks great with all the black accents too.

Nah I’m a minimalist. I do like it actually has a 2” lift now.

My 01 I had all through late high school and college. I still may get a full-size. But not the new Tundra, can’t fall in love with it but also afraid to jump the Toyota ship.

In normal times, yes, you are right. In the current situation, dealers are padding their margins with these $1k to $2k sorts of add ons with impunity, in addition to their market adjustment.

I've called all around California and even into Southern Oregon and Western Arizona, and the typical low/mid Tacoma TRD offer price one can find is probably about $4k above MSRP between dealer add-ons, market adjustments, and shipping (if far away). $5k to $6k initial ask above MSRP between the various price padding methods is more typical. One dealer in Oregon was offering a $2k markup, but the trip up there or shipping would easily push that cost above $3k net.

Granted, California is the epicenter of crazy Tacoma pricing. But the market pricing phenomena is real--dealers are keeping some inventory on their lots longer with the high pricing, but the trucks are indeed moving, though certainly after some negotiation down from the absurd asking price.

My used Subaru Outback also has a significant 'adjustment' from buyers--provided I don't take a dealer's lowball offer. I'm going to pay a premium (not as bad as I describe above) to get the exact 2022 Tacoma build I want with no BS add-ons, but I'll roughly about break even relative to the dealer markup when I sell my wagon.

Which is what it comes down to:
    - If new cars prices relax, then most likely used car prices will as well
    - If you have a decent trade in, it's probably going to be a wash if you are willing to negotiate the buy and sell to the right party
    - Cost of Goods is going to keep creeping, though, so MSRPs will continue upward
    - Even if market adjustments relax, there's no guarantee inflation won't eat into that margin
    - The supply chain chaos isn't going to disappear overnight, though, so it's hard to believe the new car market recovers in a month or two

I hear ya. The market certainly won’t recover in a month. It’s too lean in sep/October with all the factory shut downs. But to think that there are certainly not enough cars out there when 13million + are sold annually is a bit of a bold move.

pricing will soon enough adjust down. Perhaps I’m older than some but I remember the madness around Prius sales in 08, exact same tactics.

every single one was pre sold, people camped out in front of dealers to wait for them to come off the truck… 5k mark ups… and dealers ordered the high sticker ones only…

also people were paying 10k for geo metros.
Things change… oil is creeping up again … the pendulum will swing again. Above sticker on an everyday car/truck is silly at the moment. Waiting is key… hell turo a car for 3 months .. and you’ll come out on top even after the $1500 fee.

i mean it seems like others posted gladiators for ex that Already have discounts … no sense to put all the eggs in the Tacoma basket

I don't disagree with your statements, though the current situation is different from a single model being in demand. All trucks and other truck-ish vehicles are in demand. Even though Toyota production has been good to great, other manufacturers haven't kept up. And some of that demand is definitely coming the Tacoma's way.

At the same time, there has been a lot of $$$ generated that did not come about from high economic productivity. That's not a political statement, but simply an acknowledgement that printing too much $$$ too fast leads to inflation.

Jeep Gladiators may be discounted, but the discounted prices on the more capable trims are still well above a Tacoma OR, even with dealer adjustments. Jeep really doesn't have the same reputation for reliability, and the Gladiator hasn't had the same time frame as the 3rd Gen Tacoma to engineer out the glitches.

I agree waiting is the most rational position, but there are multiple dynamics at play suggesting the wait might be a long one.

What color is everyone thinking about going for?

I’m between Army Green, Barcelona Red, Or Lunar Rock.
I would throw White in there, but the issues people have had with white scare me long term.

Lol, I dont know I test drove a Lariat F150 today and was tempted. The new Tundra is just so ugly from the rear and other angles. I dont know what to do. Maybe hold onto my cement.

Wait the 22' Pros have a 2" lift now? I missed that. I thought it was still the 1" lift as from previous years. I'll have to look up the components.
