Are the kits on there pretty fairly priced?

Yep they are MSRP, but they come custom tuned from accutune as a bonus (and why you buy from them)

I have a DCLB. Like OP, I have 33" tires, 255/80r17s. I can't decide on suspension. I'd like a 2" lift. Just looking for comfortable on road performance and slow crawling/trail driving competency. The stage 2 Ironman kit linked above looks attractive, but I don't really know much about that company. Also, I was looking at the stage 3 King kit on Accutune ($3,986). Wondering if the extra money for the Kings or Foxs would be worth it here, or if I should just go with something like 6112s and 5160s.

This isn't much better. Spacers lose you uptravel, coils lose you downtravel

Can you please explain what is meant by “Spacers Lose you uptravel”. I suppose this means the axles flexing upwards?

Now don’t knock too hard as I bought the vehicle as is. Its running KO2 285/70/R17.

There is this spacer looking thing ama jig and blocks in the back under the leaf thingys. They give ample space with no rub. Let me know if these are bad for the truck. I don’t look to do any off road until this bad boy is paid off.

There's no axle in the front, but kind of. When you hit a bump, your suspension is meant to "cushion" that bump by traveling up into the wheel well then back down (record your tires going over a bump to see this in action). With a spacer lift, the amount you're lifted, say if it's 2", is 2" less that your suspension can travel up to cushion the bump. Coilover lifts do the same thing in the opposite direction, so both have tradeoffs. Don't listen to people who tell you otherwise because everything you do to a vehicle has a give and take.

Can't tell but If you got your truck "lifted", that's a spcaer. If it is, I think it's fine. Technically, yes it's not great for your truck but more than half of the tacomas I come across on trails here have spacers, and they run it harder than I do on 5100s. No shortage of horror stories on the forum of snapped shocks though. On the street, zero to worry about.

Just gonna leave it here that our local Toyota dealership exclusively does 3.5" lifts (2" from your choice of coilover, and a 1.5" spacer)

Hard top camper...many more to add+
What will you be doing with your truck? Will you be using to actually go off roading ? What kind of trails? Do you want to be able to hit some hard / rough terrains?

Best to visit some off road shops, talk to the experts..? Shock Surplus was very helpful…and I order a lift system from them (Bilsteins shock 6100 front with 6/5 and rear Bilstein 5160’s and icon add-a-lift
Added a sway bar relocation kit, front drop kit, longer front and rear bump stops, SPC upper control arms, rear drive shaft drop kit,
Also added put a gas tank skid plate, tranfer and transmission skid plate a rear diff skid plate…finally..my lower control arms skid plate will be deliver this coming Tuesday..and my mechanic will do a CMC..Wednesday…

is there such a thing as a cheap lift? That is cable of actually going real off roading? Safety First…Best to do it right!
You brought yourself a very expensive truck….best to add a lift worth doing!

consider the ride quality of each lift system ,cheaper is not always better..
    Aloha

Can’t help with a “cheap” route but I’ve been very happy with:
    1. Deaver stage III leaf packs w/3” lift
    2. Icon UCA and 2.5 front coilovers
    3. Alpine cab relocation brackets
    4. Icon 3” rear shocks
Still had to do a little trimming at inside edge of fronts. My shop expert talked me into 285/70R17 instead of 285/75. I wanted the 2” rake as I frequently tow a pretty heavy trailer. When I was all stock I measured around 35” at the rear wheel centerline, now I’m at 40” with my 400 lbs of tools in bed.

Sorry bud. You opened the can of worms. You cant put pandora back in the box lol.

In all seriousness just a lift kit isnt enough.
    2k - lift kit
    600+ install - UCAs
    X$ - CMC
600+ install - leaf pack to get your rear up to match front and hold the armor

even then, with all this youll still have issues when u go offroad and air down. Speaking from experience. My 285/65/18, 0 offset, barely rub the UCA at full lock going over bumps. I think my next best option is going skinnier tires

No lift is going to create more clearance for your tires, it just changes how far away from running into that interference you are from ride height. If you lift 3", then you will have the same problem anytime you compress either side front suspension 3". If you plan to do any off road stuff, just fix the clearance issue. On that note, i would not go above 2" lift without extended travel shocks. Those 6112's are great, especially if the truck spends much time on road, but if you go with full 3" lift you will have 1" of down travel and your front axles will be at a significant angle all of the time. 1" down travel is not much. Big bumps or dips at speed (like freeway potholes, road surface changes, hard braking over bumps, etc) may cause your wheel to briefly lose contact with the road. Usually it's not a big deal, but it can be if you need to stop or turn immediately and it can also induce ABS to activate because it senses wheel lock.

    What?!?!

There is an axle in the front. In fact, there are 2! You should study suspension kinematics and understand how spacers work/affect things. This is not correct.

I learned a lot when I built my tundra. You can spend all the cash you want on a lift (i spent 8k on it) and not notice a difference. Mainly because most people don’t wheel hard enough to get what they have completely paid for. I’ve built my entire truck this time around almost as a “budget” build. “Affordable” proven parts and lots of research.

    5100’s front and rear $400
    OME Uca $550 ish
    OME hd leafs $700
    Dobinson hd coils (352) $200

add shipping to a few different parts, and I’m setting right around 2k for a pretty (what I consider) bulletproof setup for daily driving and some weekend off-road fun and camping. Truck rides great loaded and unloaded. I have zero complaints about any of my “budget” parts.
