The two concepts are not analogous. Using vasoline on a battery terminal does not create generations of beatniks.

Toyota has a new resistor (I believe for a 3rd gen) that I used after my replacement burned out and haven't had any issues in about a year. I just used dielectric grease and all has been well.

I cut mine out with an angle grinder. Just cut the short weld out and they pop right out.

Yep just cut them out. Bending them will fuck it up too, and could be bent back I suppose, but they’d be ugly and mangled. The spare tire stays put without the tabs just fine.

Side thought… you don’t have an tail pipe chop do you? I had my exhaust chopped. It’s output was very close to the spare that way and fucked up my larger tire I had stuffed in there.

Yeah I have the stock exhaust on still. It's not chopped or anything.
I wonder if there is something I could do to not chop it?

To not chop the tabs for the spare or not chop the exhaust? I didn’t chop the exhaust to fit the spare, I chopped it for my rear high clearance bumper I think a bigger tire would fit with stock exhaust

Ohhh, are you saying the chopped pipe fucked the large spare?
I guess I'll have to see lol

Yes. Chopped exhaust dump super hot air for like a year right on my 295/75r16 I had stuffed up there. 3 lugs pretty much disintegrated. Spare still held air and stuff but it was rough.

You're incorrect. Opium isn't the right answer for children with aches and pains and putting anything between an electrical connection isn't the right answer for fighting corrosion in/on an electrical connection.

Corrosion requires oxygen and if the terminal connection is tight there is no oxygen between the connection. Electrical connections should be clean and dry. Corrosion can be avoided by putting a barrier (such as petroleum jelly, grease, liquid electrical tape, etc...) on the outside of the electrical connection.

So last night I reset the trucks ECU (disconnected battery) after cleaning the MAF... when I turned the truck on both driver side door speakers are now not working. Any ideas? They are aftermarket Kickers.

Did you check the mundane things like fader/balance? I have no honest idea what kind of setup you have, or how it's all wired.

Sounds great, Looking forward to the update post! I have a few blown-out speakers and Cruthfield tried to sell me some speakers. They mentioned they were the only ones that would worth with the JBL system.

Did a little maintenance… two weeks ago I changed the oil/greased everything/ air filter/ rear diff fluid.

Today, cleaned the MAF sensor, throttle body (replaced the O ring), changed the spark plugs, and the PCV valve.

Oh yea, see, I bypassed that when I also added a passive crossover, no more daisy-chain.
