Are these tubes welded straight to the frame?Looks like two tubes continuous tubes for the main and lower wing tubes? I’m trying to steal ideas for a bumper ;)

I built a new cross member that’s welded to the front of the frame. Then tubes come down from the top to the new cross member and then all the way down to the LCA crossbar. I’ll take more pics when it’s finished off with the skid plate and valance

Harry, if you talk about building bumpers more people will want you to build them one.

Here is a link to all the photos I took during my install. Big thing to remember IMO is to use a floor jack or 2 to push it into place while fitting it and welding it.

Yup.. cut them off to make room for other activities like hydro bumps and bypasses.

Also machined up some bump spacers today. Gonna shorten the fronts to 1 inch and the rears to 2 inch.

Will wheels with a 10mm offset work with the lower pivot kit and the stock width JD upper arms? I already have the JD fab stuff sitting in my garage, but they aren't installed yet. I can get a great deal on a set of rims with a 10mm offset, but I want to make sure they'll fit with everything else.

What’s the purpose of shortening the bumps? I’ve seen others discussing this as well. Just curious

+10 or -10? You’ll never get a positive offset to clear the UCA and you will likely have tire to frame if they did clear.

-10 mm offset. I should have clarified that.

Offset without knowing the wheel width won’t tell much. Backspacing would probably be a more helpful measurement. For what it’s worth, I have 4.5” backspacing on the LT kit and I’m as close as possible to the spindle gusset on 35’s. This chart has helped me a lot-

As long as they are 9” or less you will be fine. An 8” would be ideal with that offset.

8" wheel with a -10 mm offset. Sounds like they'll be good. Thanks a ton for your help guys!

Less time that your suspension is in bump travel especially on the front. With a 2 inch hydro in the front half my uptravel from rideheight is in the bump. At 1 inch of bump I can just up the pressure in the bump for the protection I need. The rears I’m doing because I think it’s causing some of the slight bucking I have in the bigger stuff. If this doesn’t fix it I’ll revalve the rears.
This is all based on suggestions by Harry. I’m not that smart when it comes to valving but I can do all the work.

What is close? The wheel or tire. The 35 is that a 12.5" wide section width?

Tire and yes 12.5” wide. Probably have a quarter-half inch to spare.
