Who didn't get an extended warranty and wished they had?

GAP insurance is really only needed on cars that get sold to people with poor credit. Cars that highly depreciate off the lot. Looking at KIA from the 2000's. idk how they hold value nowadays...

 

yes and for people that nothing down or barely cover the tax and fees when buying a car which is never smart to do. it leaves the lot upside down.

She probably don't have time to answer her emails because she is busy selling extended warranties. LOL! I may give her a call. I still have till the 19th on my factory warranty.

I can also confirm, the prices mentioned in post #71 are still accurate.

 

Buying the extended warranty at the end of the regular factory warranty makes the most sense as long as Toyota keeps allowing that. The only negative is the price might go up but you end up with the extra years.

 

Just for shits & giggles I inquired about a extended warranty at my dealership. LOL! Dan Hecht Chebby/Toyota in Effingham, IL. Over 4 times higher than Wolverine Toyota's prices.

 

in my case back in 2016 I bought my Tacoma. I bought the extended warranty 8 year 125,000 mile platinum warranty. it cost me $1200. Last year 2020 I had to have the Gauge cluster replaced as it wasn't talking to the engine computer properly and kicking out the anti lock brake system. took them a while to figure out what the intermittent problem was went into the dealership several times for this. they paid for the repair over 750 dollars and the weeks car rental until fixed. all covered by the platinum Toyota warranty since at that point under standard warranty it was past the 3 year mark. while it was covered and didn't clear my 1200 insurance yet but close to a thousand or so at this point I am 200 in the hole. I sleep better with the insurance. Choice is up to you.
