This photo was on Mid Mountain just before the intersection with Empire Link (right behind the big PCMR maintenance shed). Speedbag was lined with these pinkish-red trees, too.

Did speedbag for the first time this past weekend. What a fun trail. Love the more raw and natural stuff in that area, like Speedbag, Johns, etc.

Compared to most of you guys I suspect I am a very conservative/cautious/slow pick your adjective rider. But decades of being an ATGATT (all the gear all the time) motorcyclist have got me wearing shin guards with kneepads on almost every ride. Something about going 30-40 mph on a fire road in shorts or even 5 mph in a rock garden seems wrong. Plus they keep me warm in winter, provide UV and poison oak protection. And I painless kneeling in the bed of the Taco to pull out gear. For years I wore GForms, OK but tended to sag, replaced those when they wore out with Fox Enduro, terrible fit and worse quality, falling apart in a few months. So recently I bought some Leatt zip up pads
    https://leatt.com/us/shop/moto/prot...-5-0-zip-sku-5019400500-W?selected-color=6825
Super comfortable, breathe well, perfect fit and the zipper is a game changer. Quality looks good but time will tell. Best MTB product I’ve bought since my 1Up rack.

That's what most of my buddies wear and love them. I've had the fox pads for years and they've held up for me, but I'd probably look at these Leatt pads when I need new ones.

I don’t want to badmouth Fox but both my wife and I had the same FoxEnduro or Enduro Pro pads and they both ripped along seams. Probably just bad luck, but the design of the Leatts is very thoughtful (little pads so the zipper HW doesn’t touch your skin) and even if they only last a year or two I’ll be happy.

Yo, I was hoping during checkout it would show me the $$ amount. Turns out I just secured a spot in line.

Though completely awesome and I’d love to have them. I’m not paying what I think is close to $1200 for brakes.

Where are you planning on breaking it in? I think I'll be at Snow Summit for closing day.

I got the Summer Pass at PCMR this year. I spent most of my time riding up high and in what I refer to as the "No-Man's Land" between PCMR & Deer Valley, which is basically Daly & Ontario Canyons, where Speedbag and other similar trails are located. I also like the "raw & natural" (dare I say 'old school') trails in this area...It's super fun and I rarely saw another soul riding in this area all summer. Hopefully we'll get a few more chances to ride up there before the real winter weather shuts it down. :fingerscrossed:
