I was just poking the bear. Or as they say in Texas: bexar.

 

Well, if it hasn’t been said yet I’m going to go ahead and say it.

- you’re about to trailer Betty & she’s only on 35’s. Once all these other projects die down, she deserves some bigger shoes. There isn’t a single valid argument against 37’s on Betty now. ESPECIALLY because of your major steering overhaul which is almost done.

And if you ever catch yourself thinking “nah 37’s just aren’t practical or reliable enough, I’ll stick with 35’s”… just remember there are guys out there daily driving their tacos on 37’s without tundra racks or mad fab skills like you. Guys without secondary vehicles when the taco is down and guys without trailers. You OWE it to me…. Er ummmm those guys.. to put 37’s on her.

 

Why stop at 37s? It's only a measly two inches. I think 40s should be the next step.

Boom, ordered. Costs pretty much the same as the Chinese Amazon straps except these are handmade to order in Murica. Ordered over the phone and will ship out next Thursday.

 

How are the tundra mirrors? like for visibility while towing?

edit: Looks like some have flat only and some have flat + curved lense.

 

They'll be replaced with some ebay towing mirrors at some point. For now all I've purchased is airbags for the rear of the truck, as well as the straps, spare tire and super duper heavy duty coupler lock so the trailer doesn't get stolen.

Definitely. I'm not new to towing but it's been a while so I want to be cautious and safe.

 

Fixes steering rack issues ; gets centerpunched in a fender bender.

 

Even 37’s are such a massive step up from 35’s, with an inch of ground clearance and still plenty able to keep the truck streetable and DD’able. I think 40’s are beyond the limit of being able to do that but then again he has a trailer.. OH and he has 934’s oh and LT oh and tundra rack… it would be a shame to go anything less than 37. 37-39 is the sweet spot to take full advantage of all those mods he already has. Oh man Randy could you imagine 37’s or larger with your crazy low stance and bobbed front and rear? It’s so good

 

Also - with the trailer you could remove the tent and not worry about a full sized spare or quite a few other chunks of weight that would typically stay in the truck. Those items can stay in the tundra or on the trailer. You can choose how crazy you want to go as far as revolutionizing the “way” you wheel and keep the taco as far as “stuff” goes. The sky is the limit. So many possibilities

 

Trust me, I’ve thought of all of these things. For now, it’ll stay as is. We’ll see what the future holds.

 

I would highly recommend a couple or more of axle straps. And now that I look at Mac's website, nevermind.

 

Did you look at Sumo Springs for the less complex solution??
