Received this quote today for a 22 trail finally. This is the 1st dealership ive found in the southeast thats willing to give pricing on this and ive been looking heavily the last month. Its about 3k higher than i estimated with the technology packages added on, i wasn't accounting for those and im unsure if i can remove them but i have asked. Ive read rumors of this model being limited and the dealer said only 70 are coming in this allocation.

With it being 3-4k more than i budget for i wonder if it would just make more sense to save up some more and get a pro at msrp? If anybody has thoughts on this i would love to hear them, this is my first new car purchase.

Are all those options actually worth going over your budget. All weather floor mats are the only useful option I see and those only if vehicle is used in snowy or mucky areas.

So a $2K increase in the cost of the Trail package. That puts it in OR territory without fogs or the off-road goodies. Was considering this, now I’m not sure.

My plan was to start getting into offloading and move into overlanding with this vehicle while also having a reliable daily driver under warranty.

I wanted the trail vs the OR as it looks amazing, essentially a mini TRD pro. My last car was black with bronze wheels so im slightly biased. 1st mods to the OR would be TRD grill, lift etc.. and i get all of that from the factory with the trail so it just makes sense i feel like or at least did. i just dont know if it would make sense to get an OR as they will probably be cheaper and you get MTS/CC for piece of mind. I was quoted $44682.13 out the door for a 21 ORSB the other day but ultimately i want a truck ill be happy with off the start rather than having to put some money into it to make it look like i want. If i could afford it i would just push for a TRD pro but im at the top of my budget as is.

Pretty much where im at too, i wasnt expecting the techonoly packages to be added on i figured that was already in the trail package for $3,765 but its not listed.

This is what the dealer said when i tried to remove those options.

"The short answer is no. Due to supply chain shortages the standard audio is not available. That means we have to accept premium audio that has to be paired with BSM and parking sonar. That is what Toyota needs to build the truck. The USB's and Toyoguard is required from the distributor, as per agreement for all incoming vehicles. So there are two entities. Toyota that has supply chain issues and Southeast Toyota that has agreements with the dealership on minimum "port installed" options."

I was just at my dealer today, here in Canada the 2022 trail is roughly $3,000 more than a base trd off road, puts it damn close to the off road premium in price. No thanks.

4 months roughly for a truck “ordered” aka selected once built, here in Canada.

Which dealer did you get the quote? All dealers in lower mainland BC have no clue of the 22 models prices.

they can look and see what trucks are allocated in the next month (roughly) in my region.

all prices and interest rates were there. I was hoping the premium trims would get the LED headlights like the USA models but it doesn’t seem as though. Wish I could confirm but oh well

I think that dealer made a mistake in your favor as $35,655 base price is actually for a 2021 SR5, if l am not mistaken l recall seeing the 2022 SR5 base being listed at $36,870.

Yeah the Trail Edition is actually the 3rd most expensive Tacoma trim level, only behind the Pro and Limited.

Yeah l looked at your quote again and they just subtracted the $1175 delivery fee, so $36,870 is the actual base price with that added in.

I've thought this since I started driving company service vehicles in my early 20s. Even the new ones were garbage, long before any work related abuse had a chance to make excuses for new trucks and vans being dogshit.

Pulled up a 2021 trail edition quote i got sent to me while i was waiting for 22 pricing to compare... The technology part of it is on this too so it looks to be apart of the package but the trail package itself went up $1,990 compared to last year. Guess thats to be expected with the wheels, grille and lift being added.

What’s the value in this over an Off road Premium?

Was just messing around with the ‘22 build & price. A TRD Sport, access cab, manual, with the premium package (heated seats!) costs less than the Trail. This might be what I go with now.

I'm also in Nova Scotia waiting on an allocation. Dealer is mum on pricing due to "subject to change from toyota" they said.

Did anyone mention to you when Toyota.ca might update to 2022 on the website?
