    Thanks ahead for the help.
Have a 2008 Tacoma TRD that is making clicking noise from behind the middle air vent closest to the driver side.

When I change the air flow from the vents to the floor or defrost it goes away. When I change it back to vents it starts clicking again.

From what I've read it's a servo motor, but I'm not sure which one since there are multiple.

I took off the glove box and found one right next to it. I put my hand on it and I do not feel it clicking, so I think it's one further behind the dash.

Anyone dealt with this that can provide some feedback, as well as part number so I can try to procure outside of Toyota OEM dealership?

    Thanks again.

Does it continuously click or only when moving?

Clicks some times, then stops some times. Happens when moving as well as not moving.

Usually hear it more when I turn the fan on medium and high. Might be clicking in lower fan speed but maybe just not hearing it as loud.

Have you checked your cabin air filter or the area where the fan is for debris?

So between each piece of ducting they wrap the seal with plastic backed foam tape. In my '07s case the tape came loose and was flapping in the duct when the air was on. Sounded like a clicking. Was like that for several years before I took the dash apart and reached in to yank it out (also the middle driver side vent in my case). I was barely able to grab it with my fingertips, so some skinny hands/arms would help diagnose.

Yeah, actually replaced the cabin air filter thinking it may be something caught up in there. Check the fan area as well.

Common problem with plastic gears. Replace the effected servomotor. This will help you ID the effected unit.

Remove the glove box and they are easy with a little bit of patience.
