Tundra will have engine start/stop now. You can turn off (non hybrib only) with button, but need to push at every start up.

    Yay o_O

    Still like new look.

You can’t turn it off on the hybrid? Or the hybrid doesn’t have ESS?

Can't turn off ... to be fair the hybrid batt covers to 18 mph so prob won't notice as much cuz power should be instant.

Had wanted to reply to these sooner, I apologize. Didn't really sleep tonight, after an exhausting 2hr, 37 min airport run to DTW (roundtrip, plus waiting), so why not open TW in another tab and address some stuff from last week?

    20211014_002201.jpg

Wow...:hattip:, this is just something else. Thank you so much. It's just about sharing the knowledge (if there's any that is), very nice of you. LOL, I need to do better at summarizing honestly. I cannot imagine how hard it can be to pore through this text of mine, after many here have had probably very long todays. These Tacomas ain't cheap LOL, compared to the old 'Yota pickups.

I had wanted to take a long break from posting, because I am finding that I can spend way too long formulating text.

Unless there were gonna be new developments on the Tacoma front, I was gonna bow out and wrap it up, since full-size TNGA-F stuff is now debuting, Bronco has been launched and so have Expedition and Navigator I worked on for 2022 (another Ford is coming though...)

Other next generation automobiles I tried to provide insight on, are going public as well. I had commented on Lexus for years, but now I am out of that for good.

At that point I had served my purpose, but these spy shots totally upended that and yeah, color me annoyed at Toyota for doing that to me, 5 minutes after "my break" started LOL.

Unfortunately. When pointing this out to them, I am always stuck in the gray...

They just don't get it. Unfortunately both TFL (who chided me for constructive criticism:facepalm:) and C&D have called this a 2023, with no actual reference to support it. They really don't what they're talking about and stuff like that, in seeing the far reach that they have, keeps me very active in rebutting the misinformation.

I don't want anyone to make snap buying/leasing/selling decisions based on that and getting wrong, when they see the same old truck for 2023 next summer (or winter at Chicago?). A few people will get something from me by PM, that explains the 2024 MY aspect.

Fodder is correct, but the rendering is the only worthy highlight. I still haven't heard from my guy at CALTY. If he does post here, then it explains why he's ignoring my messages...:anonymous:

Hmm, maybe I need to sweep into there and help with some bullet points...

Thoughts on the electric Tacoma? If the styling for the ICE version is anything like this then I am 100% down. Very similar in styling to the tundra but still has that tight front end instead of stretching all the way to the ground.

I'm not a huge fan of the wheel wells from that angle, but otherwise that's gonna be a tempting Taco

Nice looking truck! If it’s hybrid, I’m in. If it’s EV, not sure I’m confident in how to keep it charged. I live in town, keep current truck in a community garage with no electricity available. Lots of questions on viability of EVs for many of us. They are coming.

If this is the new truck, the styling is evolutionary and not revolutionary. Thank goodness.

If the Taco and Tundra are now on the same platform, how much development was done concurrently?

I'm assuming its the same everything underneath from firewall to tail lights. The firewall takes the longest to develop. It has all the controls, wiring, etc in one tight package. Thats probably 95% done with the Tundra.

So the question is what engine do we get?

yeah, I'm the same. Not even an option unless charging stations become like gas/diesel stations

NGL, the FJ Cruiser-like vehicle might be my wife's jam. Not loving the "Compact Cruiser" name, but whatever.

If the Taco/Hilux comes with a plug in hybrid option with 30mile range, it's a no-brainer upgrade for me and my family.
