Need some help guys. New to this.
My son has a 2wd traxxas 1/10 stampede. Few weeks old running a lipo battery. Stripped the spur gear out so I ordered a metal replacement. Question I have is the shaft coming from the motor with the small gear on it has play in it. It’s loose in the bearing. This is prob why the spur stripped because it doesn’t have 100% contact with the other gear. Now how do I fix this?

I’m new to the game so I could very well be wrong, but it sounds like it would need a new motor and it should be covered under warranty, assuming you got it new.

My first step would be to reach out to traxxas and see what they have to say about it.

he’s got a 1/16 revo to but it was going through parts daily so had to upgrade.

You can either send it in to us, or see what your local dealer will do. They are not obligated to handle any warranties

This was from traxxas online chat.

said if the engine shaft is lose the motor needs to be replaced. Asked for my name and address so hoping they will send out a new motor

Edit. New motor and spur gear on the way. Thanks traxxas.

Traxxas has a fairly extensive set of videos covering the adjustment of the spur gear. It's pretty straight forward once you have the correct video.

Glad they're getting a new one out to you. The motor on my trx4 failed the 3rd or 4th time I drove it and they shipped me a new one no questions asked. Been good since (over a year ago now).

Picked up an Arrma Vorteks. Looks like a lot of fun. Does 55 mph out of the box, 60 if you swap out the provided higher tooth spur gear. Even has adjustable gyroscopic steering so it self corrects if it gets squirrely.

Oh my god this thing is so much fun. Amazingly easy to control too. It eases into the throttle so you’re not just popping wheelies every two seconds. The self correcting steering is MONEY off-road. It made a huge difference for a beginner like me considering I’m barreling around at like 45 mph off-road.

I just ran another battery through it but all in road in front of my house. There was a handful of times it would be in a power slide and then catch and yeet itself and tumble, no issues. I’m a huuuuge fan of this car. It’s so fun and stable.

New front shocks on my sons stampede. New rears ordered, along with a front bumper and a new body. Time for me to pick one up. Thinking a traxxas Maxx.

I can’t believe nobody is talking about or showing a new element knight runner truck…? I haven’t bought one yet, I’m waiting for the initial hype to get over.

Anyone have a traxxas maxx or revo they want to sell? Local Facebook doesn’t have much worth buying.
