Don’t worry, the degrees that end in “studies” are usually worse haha I was in art school the first round of college and I can’t tell you how many people went to graduate school because they couldn’t find a job with their bachelors. If you can’t find a job with your bachelors, at least in your general field, doubling down ain’t gonna help…

I dropped out soon into college and later apprenticed under a master artist in the south of France/Monaco and learned more in a week than anything I learned from art school. Fine art though, not graphic design. Those degrees still make sense.

Lol I don’t actually have an art degree, I don’t have any degree actually. Just industry certifications and experience.

Same here. I'm a college dropout that still ended up in the chosen field and now run 2 1/2 businesses. Wouldn't change a thing, except for the mistake of ever going to college in the first place.

I’m not necessarily against college, it doesn’t hold the same weight it used to though. I would like to get a bachelors eventually since it’s free for me and will check that box that gets me more money paid. I’m already like 2/3 of the way there with credits earned while active duty.

I'm not against it either, but some fields its simply pointless. It just takes a little effort to prove yourself. Many employers including myself have come to the realization a degree means nothing in many cases. Some of the hardest workers I've seen come with nothing. Could just be a local issue though. BTW how did we end up on this topic now?!

The spacers I made are actually 2 3/4 inches long. The 4 inch bumps come with a 3/4 spacer stock. So I made the new spacer 2 3/4. Kinda like my 16 inch bypasses have a 2 inch spacer on them. On the long shocks and bumps they want some of the shock shaft inside the body to help decrease the bending moment at the very end of the shock shaft the spacer moves it down the shaft further.

Well the original spacer had it. So I just copied it. But my guess is that it helps with oil flow around it or helps increase oil capacity. The spacer takes up real estate in there so it takes away oil capacity.

So yeah closing off the rebound tube will slow it down some. But leafs don't rebound as quickly/ smoothly as a coil over so like I said, mine is wide open and works well that way. But if you’re rebounding too fast then yeah I’d try turning it in a few turns at a time to see how it changes things. I typically start with 2 turn increments to see if I’m going in the right direction and dial it in from there.

On compression, my short tube is 8 turns out and long is 10. So from fully closed they are backed out that much.

    Bumps are at 80psi.

Since reconfiguring the rear end I have yet to fully bottom out and have been pushing the truck pretty hard. But I have come close. Think my bump indicator showed me I’ve been about 1/2” from full bump.

Thanks. Awesome info. I really appreciate it. Making me want to run out there tomorrow and get some runs in to see if I can make a difference.

Let me know if you go, I might be down. I’ll have to still play it easy without inner fenders.

I agree with @snowsk8air2. Leaf springs tend to rebound slower than coils due to a variety of factors. A 15/8 would be a good starting point for this setup and make adjustments to see if things get better or worse. Personally, I'd see how tightening up the comp tubes did prior to changing the rebound stack. From my experience rebound issues often times originate from not having enough compression.

Agreed. That’s why Im asking all these questions. Im just not that well versed in valving but I can handle pretty much what anyone else tells me to do. Harry said the inverted shackle makes it even more difficult to deal with.
I’m at 15/8 but want to use up all the other options before changing the valve stack.
I do appreciate everyone’s input on this.

Go out there and start turning tubes. It’s the beauty about bypasses. Easy to make changes and try. Just keep track of what you’re doing so you can go back if things get worse.
