If a 4Runner fits your needs better and you dont need a truck bed, go for it.

Are you doing it because you want it for you or doing it for the kids?

If it's for the kids...no. They can deal with being a little cramped in the car. My son is 15 years old and 5'9, he fits back there with his 2 sisters (10 & 12).

Is it the most comfortable thing in the world for him? Nope.
Do I care? Not even a little.
Does he complain? No, I raised him right.

    A bunch..and no build thread!
I would do it. My daughters are 22 and 20 and both are pretty small, so as long as they fit in the back seat and the wife and I are comfortable up front, we're good. I couldn't imagine car seats in the back of the taco. We had an Expedition and a Durango for those years.

agreed we sat in access cabs with the fold down seats... makes the tacoma look like a lazyboy in comparison

I brought my 4yo son to the dealer when I bought our 2020 Sequoia. There's two benefits... 1. I can throw the car seat into the truck for the test drive and really see how things work BUT, 2. Salesmen don't like dealing with the patience level of a 4yo for too long. All the negotiations and time wasting of the dealer seem to go awfully quick ;)

I wouldn't recommend this with a wild kid though; you gotta know your and the kid's limit. My kid doesn't just know make, he knows all the models etc. so he was thoroughly enjoying himself at the dealer.
