A little over a year ago I decided I wanted a truck. So, I sold my baby (2005 Subaru Legacy 2.5GT, Pics Below) and bought a used 2007 Off-Road DC Red. I wasn't sure, at that time, if having a truck instead of a sports car would be for me. After a year of driving it, I came to the realization that I couldn't do without it. I'd still love to have my old car but I can't do without a truck. Unfortunately I have to pick one. My compromise was my truck with more power. Solution: TRD Supercharger. To me, it made the most sense to put it on a new truck and get the full factory warranty. I contacted all the Toyota dealers within 400 miles, 54 in all, to get the best deal I could. I got a White 2011 TRD Off-Road DC, TRD Super Charger, TRD Cat Back and TRD Bead Lock “Style” Wheels. Toyota only sells those wheels in bronze. If you want black then you have to buy the TX package. You can find them online but I’m 99% sure they’re just painting the bronze wheels. I took the bronze wheels to a local powder coater and coated them in Matte Black. It cost $150 for the stripping and coating of the wheels and $60 for the rings. Then I slapped on Goodyear Duratac AT 265/75r16's. See the pics for the finished result. Over all I'm very happy with my decision. Btw, I haven't sold my old truck yet. I should be listing very soon. I put the brand new stock wheels and tires from my new truck on it. I also have the American Racing 17" chrome wheels that came on my old truck for sale.

Hmmm....I was just about to post about the availability of the ECU flash for the TRD Supercharger on the 2011. Obviously, it must be out there and working!

A lot of dealers told me it wouldn't be available until spring. The dealers that knew what they were doing were able to figure it out. If I didn’t contact as many dealers as I did, I might have not got it. Also, supposedly they’re not supposed to finance it but the dealer I went through did.

I think you would be better off with some sport tires with the supercharger and all.
The duratracs look a little off at stock height. I wish I had the cash for same rims, supercharger and some pirelli scorpion atr tires. Someone online has those rims for like 1k shipped, ouch! I also like the FJ TRD black rims, also very hard to find.

I just singed up on fuelly.com and I'm about at 3/4 of a tank. I'll update you guys after I get close to E and fill up. It definitely seems pretty thirsty, I'm very curious to see what I get. As far as power, at first I was a little underwhelmed. Now that it has been installed for about 1000mi, it seems to have broken in or something. Now it's stupid fast. The other night I got on it and when I hit 80mph in a very short period of time I realized that my tires are not made for pavement. That was fun.

They said the intake is not compatible with the SC. If I did that it could void my warranty. I'm guessing it's not a big bottle neck. On my old Legacy people dino'd their cars after getting a CAI and lost power. I think the stock intakes on newer cars have gotten a lot better.

I think it's the best way to get the lowest possible price. I make an excel spreadsheet of all the dealers then use Word to fax a custom letter to each dealer then wait for the calls. I could do a write-up on my system if people are interested.
