    Hi All

My '17 Tacoma is now at 130,000 KMs. I installed 2nd Gen TRD Pro Suspension and an AAL at about 25,000 KMs.

I rotated my tires the other day and noticed that the driver side wheels came off the ground much before the passenger side wheels.

Finally I clued in when I look at the truck from the behind that it is leaning to the passenger side. After measuring, the passenger side is about an 1" lower than the driver side. Measured on lever ground. Tires are equal PSI.

I'm assuming this is now just tired leafs and coils from carrying weight and rough road driving?

Is there something else I should be checking?

    Thanks.

It could be tired suspension components. Measure each corner and see where it sits. Then look on the low corners for sagged springs or bent supports. If it is sagged springs then shocks should be rebuilt if possible or replaced. Also replace the springs in sets. Not just the sagged one.

Few people have reported that their trucks are perfectly level. Most have reported a difference of 0.5-1" side to side. It is unusual that your's is leaning to the passenger side though. Do you have any extra weight on that side? In any case, it's not anything to worry about. The true test is driving the truck and accessing ride quality.

Sounds like a broken leaf spring. Happened to me more than once on my Taco. Get under on sagged side and give a good look.

Another possibility is that your new coil overs or leafs were designed to compensate for the heavier driver side and you installed them on the wrong sides. I think that’s unlikely, but I know nothing about the parts you installed.

Where were you jacking from that the DS came up first?

Could be a broken spring. Could also be a blown shock on the Drivers side. If you jack up the back evenly and the drivers came up first, it could be the drivers shock is blown and not putting a downward force on the suspended axle, pushing the pass axle downward. Look for oil coming out of them. 100k km or 60k miles is about the service life of those 5160 shocks. But this wouldn't explain why the passenger side is sitting lower.

105,000kms and possible suspension issues also from a 2015 Pro, so where they used already. It isn't a bad idea. Especially if it is driven hard as described.

It sounded like you are saying, "If part A is worn out, replace part B" when I think you should have said, "if part A is worn out, replace part A". Perhaps you meant, "If part A is worn out, replace part A and also inspect part B and replace if necessary"

    A bunch..and no build thread!
I'd get under the truck and look at all the suspension components. At this point, with the mileage on a second hand suspension setup, I would be looking to replace whatever did not look right.

Thanks all - suspension was all new when purchased. Put an extra spacer on the driver side coil to account for the lean. It was all level when installed with only rear to front rake.

I'll check for broken leafs on the passenger side and then measure the extended portion of the shocks.

For what it's worth, OP, these are my hub to fender measurements.

    FL 22"
    FR 22.5"
    RL 23.5"
    RR 24"

    All values are +/- 0.25"

I've got 10k miles on the aftermarket springs and shocks.

    Thanks.
Jacking from diff on the rear, and then then the factory recommended spot by the skid for the front.

I'm skeptical. Good seals or bad seals, shocks do not typically cause a static force on the suspension.

Yes. Inspection is good. I work on equipment that burns through shocks so my view of them it skewed. Replace is a natural avenue for me. This is real world... parts cost money.

I'll check for leaks and I guess the amount of extended exposed piston?

    Ohh!
Unless you jack perfectly on the center of the pumpkin the axle always lifts unevenly. Jack from the hitch and see how it hangs.

Inspection is never a bad thing, but I’m skeptical your shocks are causing your truck to lean to one side.

I believe I may be having the same issue. Driver side is lower then the passenger. Hopefully no cause for concern. Don’t mind the measuring tool
