My sister in Dallas used to live by a stagnant pond. The skeeters were bad. She kept some kind of plants on her porch that was supposed to keep them away. I don’t know what they were or if it worked. You could try to Google it.

Lemongrass and citronella I've grown them before, but not any here yet. I will probably get some of that going next year since they're both super easy plants to grow but I don't expect the citronella to do very well in our soil. It's very moist
