    Hi everyone,
I am having this problem wanted to see if any of you have had this. Its a 1998 Tacoma with the 2.7 and automatic.
    1. High idle all the time, idle screw all the way out right now. Its idling at around 1200 rpm.
    2. Has a new IAC valve already, old one had some wear marks so I just replaced it. Still high idle.
    3. If I unplug the new or the old IAC valve the truck idles around 950 and shifts good but I get the CEL or MIL light.
    4. TB already removed about 10 times and was cleaned really good.
    5. I have no vacuum on the three small vacuum lines on top of the TB, could that cause the IAC to not work right? Any new things to test to try and get the idle and shifting right would be greatly appreciated.

I would try to find any vacuum leaks around the throttle body and the rest of the engine. When you replaced the IAC Idle Air Control valve did the gasket seal OK?

Not that I am an expert and I am not. You could see if those orifices are clean and clear and if they are they should port vacuum.

    Hi,
Yea it is a new gasket. I sprayed throttle body cleaner on all vacuum lines and no change in idle. I just removed the vacuum valve on top of the egr. There is vacuum coming from the egr but nothing on the three smaller hoses on top.

Make sure your throttle body isn't worn like this.

Yea I didn't look at that. I'm going to take it off again and see. Checked everything else so I think I'm going to replace the whole throttle body.

Throttle position sensor working OK? This was causing an intermittent high idle on my truck with no CEL.
