Go for the IS500. I have a 3 and 6 y/o and could fit them in a IS250 (previous gen). Now with a third one in the way I traded it for a GS. I’m 5’11” and fit just fine on driver seat. While the 3y/o had rear facing seat my wife was a little cramped on passenger seat. We’re same height but she has way longer legs. We never travel in the car. That’s what our suv is for.

Oh yeah, if you run a smaller pulley and that stuff will wear out relatively quickly.

I can bother them if you would like me to, but as you know all these things and mods for us come at a price and are very slow to develop.

The tensioner pulley bearing definitely spins the fastest out of all of them and loses its grease the fastest. But I’m not sold on a double bearing there. Rather have a ceramic high quality one line a microblue.

Why are you not convinced on a dual bearing setup?

Jury is out on how long it would take to wear out, but it does offer more stability and being that there are two instead of one to distribute the load, you would assume it would also slow down the wear down rate for that same reason.

I don't remember where I read it but someone did not report favorable results with ceramic bearings. I'm almost positive it was on this site too.

Ceramic bearings are superior but you have to buy quality ones. Cheap ones don’t count. I don’t like having two bearings in one pulley for really high RPMs. Heat dissipates the best packed grease over time. And when one bearing starts to fail it creates friction for the other one right next to it.

Anybody spinning around 16k RPMs and up should be repacking grease in the tensioner bearing every couple years.

Found a coolant leak. One of the small hoses that go from the water neck thing in the front to the valley was peeing coolant while running. The line had a cut in it. Luckily the new engine came with one so just replaced it. Of course I lost a good bit of coolant that was rather warm.

If there’s any doubt in your mind about having regrets later, I’d try to hang onto the truck. Yours is a very nice example and it’d be hard to find one of the same quality if you sold and wanted to buy one later down the road

Keep it. You can buy a shop, but even if you buy another to build it will not be the same. I'll show my garage when I get a chance to take a pic.
Between my roommate and I we have 8 vehicles at the house and she a motorcycle in storage. It's almost to the point of parking them in the living room.

Any boosted brethren have a spare motor laying around and want to sell the timing chain cover? I’ve found myself in an unfortunate position attempting to upgrade my power steering pump and snapping the ear off the cover.
