got the RSI cap on my long bed this week.

    freakin' love it.

coming from soft top... the RSI suits us much better. Lot's of up side.

That soft top you had was cool. I’d probably pick that up if I had to purchase another one. sometimes I miss having a hardtop but I don’t miss having to take it off and find some place to put it while hauling yard trash. Nice build btw. My wife has the same color car… 2wd 4runner

Have you considered skinny pizza cutter tires? Get the tall tire you want, with less cutting, and less weight. I’m thinking of going 255/75/17 for my next tire. Only a 32”, but all i have to do is take the stock mud flaps off, maybe not even that. We shall see…

Totally stock 2019 on the rock pile at Overland Expo East last week. Truck is way more capable than you think, you just got to pick your line.

What do y'all think about the wider turn radius of the long wheel base? I just bought one and am slightly surprised by it. Maybe its just that I came from a jeep grand cherokee. I love the truck and don't think its a big deal. It just takes more planing in the parking lot. But I'm wondering what the off road guys think. How often does the wider radius make things more tricky in the backwoods?

It is certainly noticeable on the day to day. I currently own both a 2016 DCSB and a 2021 DCLB, and have wheeled/overlanded both of them.

Pay more attention with the long bed, and be more cognizant of where the front and back wheels will be when turning tightly, and you'll be fine. Slightly more tricky, but not by any means impossible.

I prefer the DCSB for obvious reasons, but the DCLB has never been stopped in its tracks out in the world due to its length. I'll put that theory to the test with SOB Hill next year and I'll report back with what I learn. DCSB handled it with a bit of room to spare. 12 extra inches will certainly be a challenge.

Thats good info! Im really looking forward to getting mine dirty and seeing what it can do! They aren't the most nimble of creatures, but they're tough and the extra cargo volume is quite useful.

why does every time I see a long bed with camper shell and stock wheels and tires, specially with some dirt in them, it makes me want to get rid of my aftermarket wheels and go back to stock?

I don't off-road, but the DCLB takes more planning in a parking lot for sure, but I'm pleased with how tightly mine can turn. I thought I was blocked in at a school parking lot one time with people tightly but legitimately parked beside and in the spot in front of me. A couple of double parkers pulled in behind me but I wasn't about to give them the satisfaction of me asking them to move their vehicles. After about 5+ minutes of careful back and forth I was out with no scratches on me or anyone else. Ha!

So are you able to "hide" the RTT under the softtopper and then open the softtopper at camp and still deploy the tent?

Also what is the bracket sticking out? is it for a mountain bike?
