I dont think there's a question about who is the best team in the series. BOS about to get schooled.

 

McCullers was straight fiyah yesterday, but I think Giolito beats the Stros today. Not sure why La Russa started Lance Lynn yesterday since the Astros repeatedly beat the hell outta him on a regular basis. Gonna be a tough series.

 

Welp, looks like I’m going on a little road trip. Haven’t seen the boys in SF for a few years. Last time I was there it was AT&T Park.

Could not be more excited/anxious for this series. Both teams seem to be so evenly matched that it’s going to come down to the smallest things that make the difference. Unless one team just completely slumps of course..

It’s a pity it’s only a five game series. I would prefer to see them later in a seven game series. Maybe instead put the 2 best records in different brackets but still give home field to division winners. It puts the teams in doubt for who plays who until the wild card is done though unless it shifts both wc teams to the other bracket. In this case wc winner would play the Brewers and SF would play the Braves. That would preserve home field advantage for division winners as well as retain the possibility of the two best records meeting in the championship series. “Fair” is a fantasy with an unbalanced schedule and all the inter league play but it this comes a bit closer since it places that second best record in a looming position over the other teams and possibly forces them to beat both of those better teams instead of just one

I stopped watching the RedSox/Rays when it was 6-4 Rays. I didn't think the Rays' pen was capable of screwing up that much.

 

#baseball. The game isn’t the stats. The best of the game is in the exceptions. I used to feel as you about Giants games, this year it’s different, you just don’t ever think they’re out of it. Same with the Dodgers but with a different vibe(boo, hiss).
