2 nights ago I got home from work a little early and I burned demolition wood from the garage for about 2 hours, I barely put a dent in the pile. So I'm going to the dump on Saturday and I had about a half hour of daylight left today after work so I moved the pile to the trailer for disposal.

    And in the trailer.

One more thing off the to do list.

Well, my day was satisfyingly productive. Last night I clipped my toenails in the living room, and later in bed, I tossed and turned worrying about if I didn't wake up in the morning, someone else would have to deal with the mess. So, to make a long story short, when I got up to pee at 5am, I took my iPhone in and turned on its handy little light to find all those little clippings on the living room floor. I'm happy to report that while one still went missing at that early hour, I thought about it again while eating a sardine sandwich at noon, and it dawned on me that one clipping had actually not completely severed from the second toe on my left foot, and had to be clipped a second time before it flew away. Relieved of my miscounting mistake, And happy for those who will take up the reins when I pass, I checked the calendar against the TV guide to see what I will be watching next time I clip my nails. That iPhone is a lifesaver, you know, keeping track of all those important days and tasks to be done, and as it turns out, my toenail clipping day will coincide with the day that I get my teeth cleaned, and I'll be able to multitask! I also remember that my dentist employs a maid service that comes in after hours, so the clippings left on the floor that day will be scooped up by those folks right along with any stray dentistry debris. Thoughtfully, I noted on my iPhone calendar to put my toenail clippers in my shirt pocket before I leave to go to the dentist that morning. I do get such a satisfied feeling after a successful day's work, and I know I'll have no trouble at all getting to sleep tonight. I wonder what I will accomplish tomorrow? I should make some plans before bedtime.

    That really looks pretty Mike.
I'm surprised by the weight of the reverb springs - I'm used to the tiny spring in electric amp metal "tanks".

Gawd I hope that's sarcasm intended to spotlight the mundane nature of our most common postings. If not... then I'm glad we don't go to the same dentist.

They are big but not to strong.
I went through like 6 springs until I got both of them to vibrate in unison when I tapped on the neck.

So sorry to hear, hope it turns out ok for you both. No way to totally avoid it, we all have to live, after all. We're pretty isolated out here in the boonies, all available vaccines, etc. but we absolutely must keep our heads in the game 100% of the time.
Yesterday, I overheard my wife on the phone making plans for Thanksgiving dinner. After, I gently reminded her of reality. She agrees, but at our age, we both cherish time spent with loved ones. No clear path forward. I find I am in forward recon mode 24/7.

I have the same problem when working on projects.

Nice shot pattern for just starting to dial in the pistol.

Mike: I like the plywood top on your workbench. I do the same with my 2 benches. I use a 1/4 in plywood topper that can easily be removed and replaced. Your cigar box guitar turned out great.

Going to install a graphics card in the new PC today. Caught a sale on a MSI GeForce GTX 1051Ti Low profile card. Not a bad card with 4 GB and DDR5.

Mike - Your shot of the table project in the driveway made me think of my old man - he always referred to his wood working projects as "making little ones out of big ones"!!! Saw a few over my home years.......

Being the workshop cleaner-upper also made me the sorter, stacker and sweeper.

I just bought $4200 worth of shares in a utility stock right at close for a shorter term play.
I know all about the utility.
I have no idea where the price is going but it’s down.
I have no idea what I’m doing.
    But it’s fun.
Update: Meant to post this on the stock thread, oops haha. Hope all of you here are doing well !

    Good morning everyone!!!

I had a great experience last evening - gave the keynote opening speech at an event where a local veteran's group presented a custom-built Harley that was designed to be ridden by a veteran missing his right leg. The company that does the work is out of Arizona - they take donated motorcycles and customize them for people missing arms, legs and who have other injuries that make it impossible for them to ride a normal motorcycle. Awesome work and really inspirational. The bike presented was built off a '95 Harley that was totally rebuilt and customized for the individual who got it. Our local group donated $20k to make it possible. The bike was donated by a man who's father owned the bike - he was there to see it presented.

Mundane grass cutting for me today.

Welcome to the porch. Cooler and coffee pot is to the right pull up any rocking chair. It is that time of the year and you are helping with the lawn aeration today.

Well retirement lasted two months. I started last week at a family Bar and grill as morning cook. No pressure at all, next to no worries of who is doing what. After 20 years running a crew, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, this is cake. Make bacon, flip an egg and go home at 11 AM. No nights or weekends, and off all summer. Got 5 shifts in the book, and don't see problems. Oh, and they gave me a raise already. Not that money is why I am doing it, need to keep moving, no the best on making myself do my list of things.

Well I started my day of by getting up early to take the trailer full of roofing debris to the transfer station to empty it. It was much closer to home than the landfill and way cheaper too! My Betty went with me to help, she's a trooper for sure. It took an hour to unload. At one point she looked at me and said steam was pouring off of me, lol. I said I know, I had to take my glasses off because I kept steaming them up!
They weigh you when you go in as they charge by the ton. Truck and loaded trailer with Betty and I was 9,360 lbs, empty was 6,860 lbs, net weight was 2,500 lbs. Total charge was $63.00. Landfill wanted $150, and a roll off dumpster was $300, so it was worth the hard work and sweating my a$$ off!
This was the load, 2 layers of shingles are under the wood.
