Geno isn’t a slouch. Russ has never missed a game in 10 years. Their defense is set up to pressure Russ and keep him contained knowing he’s stingy with the ball. Geno steps in and starts slinging with nothing to lose. Probably a paragraph for a scouting report on him and he can see over the line and stand in the pocket. It looked like he had all day to throw. Russ has to step up or run out the back door to get a second look. It seems like the days of Russ taking off for a big run as a threat at the drop of a hat are over and he only does it when there is no other option. On the other side of the ball where the hell is Adams? I see him running in late a lot or not wrapping up and dropping people. It’s like watching flag football. No big hits, no pads popping, no collisions, no balls coming out after catches just lame ass arm tackling and diving shoe string grabs. It’s like a few guys got big contracts and are on cruise control riding it out. They need to put in their mouth guards, bite down, cinch up the straps and go fucken hit someone and make them wish they never played the game. Become the bully and infect their will.

Gone are the days of Cam teeing off on Vernon Davis and sending the guy to the sideline considering retirement.

Guys like Quandre are mixing it up, Jones seems like an upgrade over Flowers, Reed has that let it roll mentality, but yeah, Jamal looks like a bust…he sure as hell ain’t Cam and is an absolute liability in coverage.

We need to not try to duplicate what we had. Don’t try to find another Beastmode because Beatmode, LOB, gone.

Pete had success at USC with frequent turnover, and nobody (is KC the latest example?) except teams with qb’s named Brady are repeating with a franchise QB.

I think you gotta go away from committing to the fan favorite - think extending Shaun Alexander and letting Steve Hutchison go to Minnesota. As a born and raised Seattleite I have that pride too that says, “You wanna go Russell, don’t let the door hit your ass on the way out.”

It’s just a Seattle curse we hang on too long. (Not to mix sports, but ICHIRO)

We’ve also had plenty of experience as of late getting lit up by backups, I understand the change of pace. Also understand the Rams were never really that close to losing, they had our number when they were on offense no matter what they wanted to do. Chunk plays.

I think we’re a ways away no matter whether you want to get further than the wildcard round with our current roster or you wanna burn it down and start over.

It's hard to blame Russ for the loss when the defense gave up 459 yards and was blowing coverage every other play

Funny thing, I legitimately didn't know Geno was still in the league until last night. At the end of the game I looked at my buddy right before Seattle's last 4Q drive and told him "watch this, he's gonna go full Geno first pass". The rest was history (even if Lockett tripped himself up).

Tough break for Seattle, but my Niners have rocketed past them now by one game in the NFC West.

Hard to blame him until you look at what’s available on defense when you have a qb who consistently wants to be the highest paid player in the league then spouts off with that “We need more superstars” shit.

Just can’t help thinking we’re going nowhere with Russell under center, we’ve won 1 playoff game to a pathetic Philly team since he wasn’t backed by the best defense in the league, 3 total since we went to the super bowl in 2014 when we had the best defense and one of the best ground games.

I have a bike that colour green....

I'm starting to really believe either New England dodged a big bullet on him or that perhaps they babied him too much and might be part of why he's not lived up to the hype.

The Patriots managed it with a stud QB, though Brady was always taking less than market and took cuts in order to let them build the team.

Exactly. As I said a few post back, any team with a franchise QB not named Brady isn’t repeating.

Russell wants to be in that conversation and is salty he hasn’t won 4 Super Bowls by now, but he couldn’t duplicate the success when it was most likely, when he was on his rookie deal and we had cap space to work with.

I personally see a trade with NYG. They have 2 first rounders in next years draft, could give Seattle another in 2023 and a QB in Daniel Jones as a stop gap.

What people don’t realize about rebuilds I guess are they take some time, so yeah, we’d absolutely suck for a few years, but the sooner it starts the better so you can keep Pete under contract

Russell is out 2 months with a torn tendon in his finger. The Hawks will be lucky to win another game.

While they’re at it they should trade DK for a couple first rounders and Jamal for whatever you can get for that loudmouth cancer. He’s going to be a nightmare now like he was on a loser Jets roster, and in my opinion he ain’t worth third what we gave up for him.

Take maybe 6 or 7 1st round pics and have Schneider turn them into a bunch of second and third rounders and rebuild the offensive line and defense with guys who can grow together over a few years and duplicate the process that got us a championship.

True, though even now Tom is getting paid so it's not necessarily a sure thing there either. Russ can complain all he wants but I've never seen him as that good..and I never thought Tom would have been either, for the record.

Depends too how you rebuild. I always say people sometimes don't realize those early Patriots SB teams were passable on offense but had, while not the 2000 Ravens or 80s Bears, very stout defenses.

That could be a decent idea, or maybe wait till Lockett is streaking and deal him so people forget how hot and cold he can be.

Never was a huge fan but I always rooted for the Hawks under Matt Hasselbeck, ironically he was a Xaverian Hawk playing high school ball :)

Division games are always interesting, so I expect the Niners to put up a pretty good fight.
