4th year in the state so this definitely feels like the new norm to me. I regret giving them my money no doubt and won't next year if I'm still here. Have a 1yr old GWP so will probably spend my fall hunting birds.

Punched my D zone tag yesterday, went for a quick hunt after work and got lucky.

Nice D zone buck. Been hunting D3-5 20 plus years. The bucks there aren’t large but they are decent like yours. Looks like you gut shot him. May want to sight in your rifle before you go again.

Thanks, The gut shot was from the second shot, I placed the first shot broadside, took out the lungs but he was turning in a circle and still standing so i fired once more. I know I probably could of just waited but I wasn't sure and didn't want him to take off.

There was 2 of them together, but this one presented a better broadside side shot for me.

On another note, went it to buy some shotgun shells today and FAILED my background check because I'm "not in the system." I must have forgotten how that law was designed to work because I thought I should have been able to purchase shells for the shotgun I legally possess but don't have registered. Have been pissed off all afternoon :censored:
