This was the same determination I came to when deciding to replace or not to replace.

Do they provide a new replacement schedule for after the install? If not, then you’re back on the OEM schedule?

Just curious, have you ever lived out of California?

Doesn’t matter where you live, the fifth largest economy on the planet behind the United States (all of them), China, Japan, and Germany is still the fifth biggest economy on the planet. Yes, just California by itself.

I come to this thread to learn about superchargers and see if the v8 tune dropped.

You guys could always exchange addresses and settle this like men. The rest of us want to talk about trucks.

Yes. And if I ever found a place I would rather live, I would move there.

To each their own. I’m on state 5 since my 10 years there. No regrets

The thing I'm most angry about living in CA is that the CARB cert for the Maggie on a 2021 still isn't available, so I'm still running around sucking vs. being blown. :( Platinum plated problem I guess....

Does magnuson post the differences/updates between tunes? For example V6 to V7? Does anyone know the improvement of a V8 tune that some people claim to have already?

They have not stated differences in the Tune version, and to my knowledge no one has Version 8 as it has not been released. Presume it (V8) will be for the 2021 model year Tune as the 2021's are not supported with a CARB Certification yet.

If a new tune is released, will magnuson automatically send it to you or do you need to request it? If you change stuff on your truck that will effect tuning, will they sent you a new tune? Just request it? If not what is the process? I sent them an email on Monday with update mods, asking for an updated tune and never got a reply.

probably better off to just call them. Based on having no ability to inspect the "tune" with the software since it is locked it could be that no adjustments have been made for any mods. Seems like they only want to be sure you don't have mods that affect AFR (Headers, .....). Could be totally wrong but again no way to know without having an un-locked tune to inspect. Let us know what they say to you, and any updates they may provide about Version 8. GL.

When V7 was released they didn’t send or notify me. I found out here about V7 and requested it. As for mods, they told me they don’t have different tunes for different mods and they don’t do custom tuning. That was earlier this year. Not sure if anything has changed since. Probably difficult to have multiple tunes because of CARB certification.

Odd. Wonder why they ask for certain mods during the initial tune request?

I thought the same. It almost sounds like they would provide a mod specific tune. I realized after it’s so that they can tell you your mods are not compatible with the tune.

Setting up my gauge today. Thanks to all the members on here who answered all my questions and gave me suggestions on setups. Picked up a plug and play harness from @kmorgan3
