You got some cool tools i havent seen or used before...I know some about points, etc. But late 70's early 80s is most of my "backyard mechanic'n" . the newer stuff is basic-- brakes, alternator, battery, radiator, oil change etc.

Made some progress on these. Just have to machine the jaw pads, final profile on the bodies, and set the pins.

Can't Twist Clamps, maybe spelled with a k though. Yes those are nice and I ordered a couple of sets like 6 clamps each. Now that welder dudes know of them, they have a bunch too.
    Nice work!

Sure is a nice old wagon you got there. Survivor for sure. On my old Camaro that had points and condenser, it was going through points all the time until I finally put a new or remanufactured one in there. Thinking the shaft bushings may have been worn and causing them to burn up prematurely.

I have a Mallory Unilite with mechanical tachometer drive for my Corvette. That's what the guy who I bought it from upgraded to. I would like to go all new MSD, but I can't justify the price without first trying what I have.

And pretty sure a MSD box would work with the Unilite but looking at a new tach drive distributor from MSD, yikes over$500.00
and think they offer complete set up would be the most economical way. Everything included price,

Once? I remember working on an old car with my dead beat stepdad and he did some thing with spark plug wires and one was off the plug...but it started, i see spark plug wire off and me being dumb kid logically goes to to put it on...when i leaned over i completed the spark circuit. It sparked my hand and my leg on the fender:annoyed::rofl:. I had shorts on, luckily it didnt get my jewels...:anonymous:

The good old days of checking spark plug wires open the hood at night in the dark look for sparks.

This current project won't be either, but I'm getting to the point where I don't want to work on stuff anymore, not a project of this magnitude anyway. For 30-40k get a new car that run circles around it, provide AC, get 26 mpg on the highway, etc etc..
It should be a pretty cool car though..have to see. I think late spring next year now for finish date. Driveable date rather.
I really hope the guy who sold me the car doesn't die before it's finished. He's not doing good at all, lots of alcohol.

:)flashback to my freshman year of HS, my cousin's friend had a very cool (for show) Bronco of that vintage, lifted with 44" ground hawgs, for tires. White in color pretty much pristine condition. His dad own a filling station repair shop. Put new universal joints in monthly

Driveline angles from the amount of lift required to run 44" tires and short wheelbase.
