No thanks. I avoid old people who think they are smart because they haven't died yet.

I am not sure who to believe. So many experts and posts that are telling me exactly what will happen in the future and how we got to now. Do we list credentials and certifications on our profile, like Mensa? I only wish my OTC Twitter group was like this. My portfolio would be up so much more.

Haaa, jk got ya. I got nothing really to add so I figured I would be a dick to spice things up a bit, :bananadead: I lease everything. Just leased an ES350 F Sport. Took an hour and half and negotiated a good (not great) deal.

10 seconds of "homework" will get you contextual info.

FB, IG, Twitter, TacomaWorld, etc are not news sources. They are garbage piles. There is news in them somewhere, but it's not going to be obvious to see and most likely will be buried and covered in shit.

I feel like there will be lower prices in the future. Many folks like myself and the OP just wait it out, let them keep those new vehicle sitting.
Personally have a 2016 JKU Rubicon with 50k miles and a 2017 Tacoma that just sit for the most part, I told my daughter she can use my car or the Rubicon if she likes. We'll wait it out a bit.

How about this.. all companies in our corporate conglomerate use my analysis to make decisions.
It's gonna be demand until 1st qtr 2023 when supply overshoots demand. Prices will go down, layoffs will happen and the process starts again.
The only things that could speed up this process is something that curtails demand or increases supply globally. Something like a war or a... pandemic.
You guys are complaining about vehicle prices, the truth is everyone globally is complaining about price and availability of what they need, be it toilet paper, water or a house.
My advice? If you want to buy something special for your child or loved one for Christmas, you need to get it now and don't worry about price.
Again, if you are worrying about prices, you need to wait.until 2023.

I'm not in the market anyway and have no plans to be fortunately, wife has a 14 Rav4 with 35K and my 10 Tacoma at 119K that just received a new frame and suspension. No rush to change that nor do I wish to.

Ahhh yes, some of those did actually have the 5.0

Nailed it re Christmas I've heard this a few times recently.

There seem to be a lot of people who like to kerp their heads in the sand. It is sad really, but that is how it is now.

Inflation is indeed much higher than the Fed anticipated (4.2%), but it's more complicated than blaming it on "printing money". Here is a good overview:

    I just found a 2013 rav4 at a Toyota dealer for 12.4.

If you're good with cars like you said you are - get something like that and spend 5 grand doing all the maintenance you could imagine and Bam. Good as new with a dependable Toyota. And save over ten grand on the whole situation. Something that new won't be destroyed by rust yet - keep it undercoated (I like fluid film or wool wax but I know some like an oil) and it'll stay that way forever.
